Well, the only prob I could think of is the fact that a lot of marine engines are liquid cooled. Theres some group that certifies 2 stroke oil and if the bottle touts that it "exceeds all requirements of yadayadayada" I say go for it. Now if it says nothing about being such and such approved, maybe not.

Thats the yada yada I was talking about.

yea ive run marine oil too. same shit. i when i grease stuff i use marine grease too... i figure if it can hold up to marine conditions it can hold up to my ped... probably.

Anything made after 1990 is way better then what people were putting in thier bikes in the 70's and whatever tc3 is perfectly fine for your regular guy bike.

in the 80's i had a suzuki dt 185 that was oil injected ( can i say that on this forum board without everyone going all fucking nutty? ) and i was a silly kid. I used to pour whatever we had in the garage in that oil resivoir, then myself and 5 kids used to go camping way up in the woods in the hot summer on my dirtbike, and go beat the living bejesus out of it in the hot 110 degree heat of summer...

running on atf fluid, 10w/40 , straight mystery oil, gear oil and probably furniture polish at one point. Ok the furniture polish is a joke but everything else is not.

Kitted crazyness run motul or some nice yamalube or something.

People get to anal retentive about designer oils.

My boat has a 1984 mercury on it, and it came with an old gallon of evinrude 2 stroke. Everytime i go fill the boat up everyone looks at me like im mixing cats and dogs for breeding.

Yeah, im pretty sure moped Larry always ran marine 2 stroke oil. If its good enough for the MopedLar, its good enough for anyone.

My puch says either 50:1 2 stroke or 25:1 4 stroke. I was thinking about running a tank on the four stroke just to see what would happen but I think that would just be asking for it.

my old clinton lawnmower said mix 1 gallon of gas to 1/4 pint of 30w motor oil

i tried it and man does it smoke like a bastard

but thats what they used back then and those engines lasted forever

I run marine synthetic in my Tomos, I've run so long 40mph stretches with my ped, and when I pull the head off on occasion to see if all is well, it looks fine, no scoring at all, looks beautiful in there. I've also run 4stroke car oil in my old GT550 motorcycle when I'd run out of 2 cycle, and that never caused problems either, and that bike was trick,chambers.porting,milled head,etc.. Worst thing you can do is run out, or have your ratio off. Also on a long decent, try to keep on some throttle if your premixing.
