cheap high flow air filter

so i got bored twiddling my thumbs waiting for my new carb and filter and all the good stuff i ordered to come in and decided to fuck around. i basically just went to the music store and bought a foam windscreen for a microphone and got a hose clamp. the result is a super high flow air filter that only cost about $2.00. the pictur quality is really shitty, my camera is dead and all i have is this damned phone. oh well, i'm bored so i figured i would post this and see what people think. go ahead. flame away. i can take it.

i love you.

Re: cheap high flow air filter

Oil it up and I would think it would be as good as any UNI or other foam filter. (Foam air filters should always be oiled to trap those really tiny dust/dirt particles)

Re: cheap high flow air filter

good idea, totally forgot about the oil.

Re: cheap high flow air filter

Microphone foam tends to diminish pretty easily. Is this holding up to the elements well enough?

Re: cheap high flow air filter

It doesnt matter what it looks like. It just has to run. Rat rod style.

Re: cheap high flow air filter

yeah, its holding up pretty well. i think once i oil it it should be pretty durable. not that i'm planning on running it for long. but in a pinch it works pretty well.

Re: cheap high flow air filter

also, this isnt the same foam that is inside the cap of a mic, i have had the same foam windscreen on my beta 87a for almost four years now. the foam inside the cap is toast, but the aftermarket windscreen has held up beautifully. albeit a little stinky.
