I have seen several posts that mention that the Athena kit comes with the wrong piston. I have even seen some people trimming the pistons.
To whoever has done it, what did you gain and do you have pics? I'm trying to squeeze the most reliably out of this thing as i can.
I believe you would want to trim the skirt so it clears the intake port entirely at TDC.
the piston that comes with it is the TCCD 70, which is piston port, so you can cut the skirt way back and open up the boost ports quite a bit.
anyone got some pics of what the piston should look like?
Any pics on what I should do to the 'wrong' piston? So far I have only been able to get my athena kit up to 45.
well the piston above is the right piston. I'd try that out.
