Dellorto 16 SHA, whats thw verdict?

So i'm rockin a 66 Puch Dakota and the 17mm stock bing has decided to eat shit.

I was checkin out the 16mm dellorto sha on treats, and although i would have to dremel out the outlet a bit to fit, it seems it might work. I was just wondering if anybody had anything to say about the sha before i bought it.

Pros?

Cons?

...anybody?

Dellorto 16 SHA, whats thw verdict?

I am happy with my 16mm Dellorto.

you might not have to dremel out the outlet. The SHA's come with this plastic bushing that you can easily pop out to make the clamp area a bit large in diameter to fit w/e intake you need it to.

Re: Dellorto 16 SHA, whats thw verdict?

right now my intake is about hmm 23mm OD. I'd go with a PHBG because it'd bolt right up and i'd be going up in size rather than down, but endless tuning opportunities scares the shit out of me

Re: Dellorto 16 SHA, whats thw verdict?

i'm going to be putting an AMAL 15 mm on one of those in a couple days here.. i can let you know how that works.

Re: Dellorto 16 SHA, whats thw verdict?

The 16 SHA works fine. Kitted bikes set up for more RPM range do better with PHBG because you don't end up too lean at WOT and too rich at idle. The SHA is adjustable however. Using micro drills on the lowest idle orifice in the carb body and or carefully drilling the mid tube orifice can expand their usefulness. If you overdrill, patch with JB Weld and re-drill. Keeping the carb stock though and living with it's minor limitations on a not too hot set up is a joy of it's own
