Moby cylinders...Airsal vs. Parmakit

Ok, I just got my Ninja G3 in and took my engine apart for the first time only to find out that the exhaust threads are stripped like none other (although, oddly enough my stock exhaust did tighten up decently). I was going to do some porting, but I dont think I want to mess with it now as I dont want to f-up the threads on the Ninja. So...my options are as follows...the Airsal 70cc Kit or the Parmakit 50cc, the price difference is like $30. I have heard some iffy things on the Airsal, but Parmakit seems like a pretty legit manufacturer.

So...what do you guys think? BTW...this is for an AV7

Re: Moby cylinders...Airsal vs. Parmakit

parma 50cc is not likely to be much better than a good stock cylinder. Go with the Airsal, though even that thing isn't so great.

Re: Moby cylinders...Airsal vs. Parmakit

Or, I could try to just buy a used stock cylinder for cheap and port that up, but I have never ported anything nor have I ever had an engine apart. This is the first time. I would end up taking it over to MLM to get some assistance from the guys over there.

the parma 50cc is actually labeled Zeta, so I assume they just took whatever zeta had left and rebranded it.

they are actually probably as good as stock, if not worse.

the piston has the bottom of the side skirts cut out, and windows cut into the sides of the piston, and the piston has a higher dome than a stock one, but the intake is narrower and taller than the 30mph cylinders, and the exhaust is pathetically small. Dont buy it.

Re: Moby cylinders...Airsal vs. Parmakit

i recently put the 70cc airsal kit on mine. i have never had experience with kits before so i dont have much to go on as far as how it compares to any other kits. but, its pretty rad compared to a stock ported cylinder. and with that g3, it should be awesome.

my sentence structure is getting worse by the day.

they both lick balls.

Re: Moby cylinders...Airsal vs. Parmakit

Go for the airsal 70cc kit. It wont be the best 70cc kit out there but it will be a lot better then the parma 50cc one.

Re: Moby cylinders...Airsal vs. Parmakit

sell me your Airsal then, i just went and looked and they are out again. I need to put something on this damn bike...I should have just spent that money on finding a Puch...so goes mopedding.

Re: Moby cylinders...Airsal vs. Parmakit

Wait, couldn't the intake and exhaust be easily ported out? What are the windows for? Booster ports?

are you talking about the airsal allen? ive been trying to make a parma clone from the airsal. parma 6 port, airsal 4.

and hawkns, theres no way. if i was smart i would have bought elliots extra parma when i had the chance. moby kits are too hard to find to just get rid of.

Re: Moby cylinders...Airsal vs. Parmakit

No the Parma...

If Moby kits are hard to find, why are you griding away at one?

the parmakit cylinder is actually ported id say almost the same as the SLOW moby cylinders. Except the transfers are a little wider and taller, similar to the fast ones. I was looking at an E cylinder compared to it, and id rather have the E cylinder.

really, dont bother with the parma kit

are you serious? yeah why bother trying to make anything better. sheesh.

the parma 50 is worse than a stock fast cylinder josh, just mod the stock moby one.hb

oh yeah on that i agree, i was commenting on the response to wanting to port my 70 airsal.

Re: Moby cylinders...Airsal vs. Parmakit

ok, maybe ill just stick this all back together and hope I can come across a kit sometime down the road.

Re: Moby cylinders...Airsal vs. Parmakit

Find a Parma 70cc.

Your balls sack will never be the same again.....

Re: Moby cylinders...Airsal vs. Parmakit

...cause if you don't know what your doing, than you could end up ruining the cylinder....how are you going to port it? Adding booster ports? Have you even done anything like that before or are you taking it to a machinist?

Don't waste your time and money. Just take your Parmakit into a machinist and have those threads fixed, dude.

im totally taking it to a machinist. id love it if someone could fix those threads but a 33mm tap? i dont know...

eric from mopedhead said he has a moby exhaust thread tool that cuts new threads i could borrow, so all id need to do is run a tig bead all along the old threads. i hope to hell that works....
