Variating a RiGiD 103

) CuperAWESOMO ( /

I just picked up a rigid 103 and low and behold, no variating madness. The motor can variate and swings up if you push on it but it's just missing the variator. My question is, can i buy a stock 103 variator and put it on, or are the crank shafts different lengths (requiring me to buy a crank too?) Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Nope you need a new crank to go with the variator it's also geared way out so you might want to get a bigger rear sprocket.

If you send me your derbis I will send you my variated rigid 103.

Yeah after seeing the difference between the 102 cranks and the 103 cranks, looks like I'm going to have to get a new crank as well as a variator.

Derbis for peugeot? never.

Maxmojo: I actually got a just and I'm moving to the bay. But i go to LA quite often, maybe we'll ride sometime.

Oh shit, another rigid Peugeot 103. I have one that is on back the burner right now till I can get the dollars to finish it. These bike are hot as hell. If you do variate this bike be fore warned. Any little bump will make the engine swing and slam back down on the belt causing the bike to lurch. I have a rigid Moby that I variated and it does that like crazy on these wonderfully maintained Michigan roads.

Thanks for the advice. The roads where I'm moving to are pretty well kept. I'll definately keep it in mind though.

Re: Variating a RiGiD 103

so does that mean you can put a variator on a super 7? or no?
