depends on the tire. Chances are it might, but maybe not.

Let me clarify. If you bike had the 2" skinny wheels, then it wont clear the front fender. If you had the 2.5" wheels, then the front fender is slightly different and it should clear, but it all depends on what tire you use. I doubt that a 2.5 Gazelle would clear, they are BIG tires.

I don't think a 2.5 would clear the swingarm on my '75 Maxi S. I was going to go with a wider fender on the front to go with 2.25 front and rear , but I heard they are hard to find. Even the 2.25 on the rear was iffy. I prefer a little more clearance. The drive chain would have to be way too tight to clear the swingarm. I guess you could add links to the chain.
i just put 17x2.25 gazelles on my 78 maxi...
front fender has to be modified if you want it to fit.
The rear fits, but another link in the chain would be much more comfortable. To go 2.5, I would think you might want even more links, but I don't know it would fit anyway.
2.25 seems as close as I'd want to get.
i'm rocking 2.5 mc11, hope u have nice firm shocks, or you'll bottom out and eventually tear thru your wiring
