puch tuners help!!!

Hi. I have a puch magnum MKll 2-speed 2-hp and when it was stock it went 30 to 32 mph. I have since then installed a biturbo pipe and a hi-flow filter and up jetted from a60 to 64 and now i can barely get it to 23 mph. isn't it supposed to go faster? i don't no mutch please help.

Re: puch tuners help!!!

upjet more

Re: puch tuners help!!!

would a 72 jet work .

Re: puch tuners help!!!

try it, look at your plug, put the stock air-filter on, see how that affect it, check for leaks around the exhaust, remove your head gasket.

Re: puch tuners help!!!

i put in a 72 jet and it ran really bad. if i open it up it almost dies. i have to go real easy on the throtle, even then it dosn't go vary fast (18-20) . i put the stock filter on and it made no differnce . thank you for the help so far.

Re: puch tuners help!!!

Try a 66 or 68. 70 at the most, you are probably too lean with the 64, too rich with the 72. Jetting is a real pain in the ass. You always need the size you don't have. Order the 66,68, and 70 to be safe, they are $2-3 each. In my experience, it's worth the $ to save on frustration! (Which is why I now have jets 58 - 92) :)

I say put that stock jet back in and start from there. You'll will probably need to upjet only one or two sizes.

if you can lower the needle one notch try that too.

Re: puch tuners help!!!

so i put the 64 jet back in and it worked!! YES! but it only goes 32mph and when it was stock it went 30-31mph .shouldn't it go 35-40mph or are my expectations to high. my gear is 18/40 . it still bone stock except for the biturbo and high flow filter.

Re: puch tuners help!!!

anyone?

Re: puch tuners help!!!

You still need to upjet. The 72 was too rich, the 64 works, but not well. Logically, you should probably jet somewhere in between 72 and 64.

Try a 16 or 17t sprocket once you get the jetting right.

Re: puch tuners help!!!

the bi turbo is a high end pipe. It's possible with that gearing your not able to rev high enough to hit the "butter zone." Also, do you know what 4-stroking sounds like? I usually jet so high it 4 strokes and then work down till it stops.

Re: puch tuners help!!!

Take the air filter off and see if you can go faster.

is it four stroking now???

Re: puch tuners help!!!

thank you for the help. everybody on this forum rocks! i still have the 64 jet in bcuz my friend said it's still to rich .what dose rich sound or look like?when it runs rich do the fumes look blue? i set my bing carb needle (64 jet) one richer and it fouled the plug. so that means it is to rich a jet? it runs but at the end of the block it dies if i let off the throttle

Re: puch tuners help!!!

the correct jet should sounds like this zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

too rich sounds like this zzzzzzzgrgrgrzzzzzzzzzzzzzzgrgrgr.

If you are way too rich you just get grgrgrgrgrgrgrgrgrgrgr.

instead of that nice constant buzz a moped should make, it stutters and sounds like it's coughing or growling.

BTW it is really hard to spell moped noises!
