Honda 50cc Performance Cylinder

Raymond Rexroad /

This is a long shot, but has anybody bought one of these? Or has anybody ever read any type of review. I can't find any.

I don't want to stay legal and stay at less than 50cc . . . .

This, plus my new LeoVince . . . hmmmmmm.

I may buy one anyway, and then I'll share the port locations and dimensions . . . .

Re: Honda 50cc Performance Cylinder

once u go performance in any way it is a little illegal E.P.A so if u r going to sin, sin boldly (a pastor told me that :P)

Re: Honda 50cc Performance Cylinder

I'm guessing that the definition of illegal is dependent on the state you live in.

E.P.A.???? No emissions laws on mopeds, as far as I know . . . .

Re: Honda 50cc Performance Cylinder

actually there r they have to go with the rules from when they where built and there r rules on there power out put and top speed so once u go performance its illegal but no cop will pull u over and say hay u r smoking to much

So . . . let's get back on track, here:

Re: Honda 50cc Performance Cylinder

How about this 70cc one from treats hq?

By the time you pay the currency conversion and pay $$$$ for the freight, this in California one might be cheaper.

I want 50cc. Treats can't help me here. It's not about cost, but 50cc.

Re: Honda 50cc Performance Cylinder

You may find that by the time you finally sort the jetting and pipe out to get a nice plugchop you may end up with the same amount of hp and a peaky powerband (you are going to put a pipe on it for the max benefit of the setup , right ?? ). But since we're more after torque for rideability as well as topend you may want to reconsider the larger Treats setup . As for the law pulling you over , unless you ride to attract attention with a loud pipe and are passing people above the speed limit - it's no big deal. Pretty funny ,There's a little old lady about 58 who I see once in awhile ride her grandson's ped (loud and fast) pass me on main street doing 45+ on a 2-speed Towny (I know , I sold it to them) - wouldn't stand out if she was quiet and behind me . An occasional blast to pass is no big deal but it appears most people riding peds nowadays are pushing their machines and speed limits bigtime . I tend to wonder if enough "kids" on mopeds start riding like the goped kids of years ago - that eventually the law will screw it up for everyone once they start clamping down . In a nutshell I'd go larger just for the rideability and wider powerband .

I live in a small town, where the police can be pricks.

I'm not a newbie.

I want a 50cc cylinder.

Nuff said.

Re: Honda 50cc Performance Cylinder

K&R:

does the police really know about moped in your town? here in Montreal it's impossible that you get busted with a 70cc. It won't be visible and can't you just say it's a 49.9cc ?? i mean they're not mech..? same with the pipe. its not stock so its still not legal but you say the original had one and it broke so you got a new one recently. they dont know its more powerful (montreal is a bigcity (2 millions people... and i swear we are like 5-6 driving real old school mopeds in town)

thats cool for this!

about the 70cc on ebay. there are still parts missing with this kit.. gaskets and rings..

i'd rather find a complete kit from europe but i cant read there "/

Re: Honda 50cc Performance Cylinder

I've installed the metra kit from treats on NU50, it's pretty nice, nothing to fancy as far as the ports.

I've got the parma kit form treats at home and it's much more impressive, crazy ports; and it does in fact come with all the gaskets and rings.

Re: Honda 50cc Performance Cylinder

derek

where did you get it, for how much? (for the parma kit). did it need some tricky fix or only a bolt-on installation?

any pix of ur ped !? :) thanks

Re: Honda 50cc Performance Cylinder

Well to find the review on this cylinder..

seach google.de Its going to be in german or dutch...

Its on the net... camino is you key word.

Re: Honda 50cc Performance Cylinder

Both kits came from treats, not sure on cost of the metra, Parma was around $200.

Metra bolts up to PA/NU perfect, transfer even match; on NC/NA's the fins need to be cut to clear oil fill.

The Parma will require some case matching.

No current pics, I'll do a full write once it's done.
