Has anyone Dual Variated a Hobbit?

if so...enlighten me.

if not, why not? I read the thread about the dual variator moby...the warinator...and it got me thinkin'.

Re: Has anyone Dual Variated a Hobbit?

it's already that way. the front and rear pulleys both move- on the moby, the front pulley and the motor move.

Re: Has anyone Dual Variated a Hobbit?

Yea it's been done. I think Honda did it.

Re: Has anyone Dual Variated a Hobbit?

so you... havent taken your sidecovers off yet?

Re: Has anyone Dual Variated a Hobbit?

look, my thought process was that if you could have two hobbit variators, you could set up one for acceleration with lighter roller weights.

and then another with heavier weights to push it into a higher top speed.

In my mind there would be some sort of manual "transmission" of sorts, to switch from the high rpm lower end to the second variator.

I have no idea how moby's work, and have never seen another variator besides my own. Thus the confusion.

But, really, it was a dumb question--should've looked more before I asked. Still learning.

Re: Has anyone Dual Variated a Hobbit?
