jetting a 50cc tccd

i'm about to throw a 50cc tccd kit on my 80 puch maxi (e50 engine). i've been running stock up until now, but plan on putting on the kit, high flow air filter, and bullet pipe all at once. the set up will then be...

14 bing carb and intake

50 tccd kit (on an e50)

high flow air filter

bullet pipe

the stock jet that's in there right now is a 58. i ordered jet sizes 62, 65, and 68 from treats with the rest of that stuff. is this a high enough range of jets to try and tune with? and, is it a bad idea to try and break the kit in with all the new shit thrown on there (ie, should i keep the stock airbox and pipe on for the first 20 miles on the kit)? thanks!

i ran a very similar setup, with a 68 jet, though the real trouble comes in with gearing. depending on your pipe you might have to change some sprockets around, as i noticed my 50tccd was very picky on which gearing it worked best with.

Re: jetting a 50cc tccd

awesome! that's super helpful, thanks jonny. what gearing are you going with at this point?

Re: jetting a 50cc tccd

gabe, throw it all together and run it with the 65.

Amy is running the exact same setup except with a 13.5mm carb and a proma and she is rocking a 60-62 jet.

sarah's ported#22 has a 60 jet

Re: jetting a 50cc tccd

maybe the 65 with that airbox you got*

Re: jetting a 50cc tccd

solid, thanks peter. sounds like i got a good range. all the shit from treats should be here tomorrow or tuesday.

i was running 15x40 gearing and it would have had a bit better top end with maybe 16x40. the kit is notorious for its low end, and the gearing is all i could do to make up for it.

Re: jetting a 50cc tccd

wouldn't the 40 on the back be hurting your low end? i have a 40, but i think i'm going to stick with the stock 45 to help save some low end.
