Morini M1 65cc kit

Has anyone tried one yet? I just got mine and it looks like the piston skirts may need to be widened a little to match cleanly. Otherwise, everything else looks nice.

Since I couldn't come up with an option for an intake or upgraded reed kit, I guess I'll have to bore out my intake and bend my reedstops out a bit.

Hopefully that and a Dellorto 16:16 and BOSS pipe will net me some speed:)

Re: Morini M1 65cc kit

here a tip so that you dont fuck that nice kit..

USE A FILE...ONLY!

File into the piston only dont go both ways use a file that cuts one way only. Good luck and yes remove that shit.

Re: Morini M1 65cc kit

Those transfers are huge compared to the stock cylinder, good luck making a case match there.

Re: Morini M1 65cc kit

You can cut your own reed material, malossi sells them in sheets and I'm sure you could find other brands that do the same thing.

Re: Morini M1 65cc kit

I haven't even had a look at the case yet, so I have no idea what I'm in for there.

Thanks for the tips about filing, I would have gone straight for the dremel. Maybe I'll hit Sears tomorrow and pick up a new file. I'm kind of lacking in that department. I need to get a drill bit bigger than a 1/2" for my intake anyway.

Re: Morini M1 65cc kit

NICE I will be waiting to hear of your results and pics of filed down piston and transfer work because I want to get one of those for myself . from 1977 mopeds right with or without gaskets

nobody ever seems to respond to my post if i start my own thread. do you guys know if m01 bottom end parts are interchangable with m1?

What parts? Flywheel? Bearings? The cases are completely different, MO1 being piston port and M1 being case inducted reed valve. What parts do you want to swap?

what parts can i swap?

Re: Morini M1 65cc kit

You can swap: main gear+clutch+magneto+bearings+all internal parts but be warned...the M1 uses a shim on the main gear _inside_ the case and the M01 doesn't. I don't know about the cranks yet though I'll compare them later on tomorrow I'm bone tired.
