I replaced the 28yrd old coil and boot on the 505D with an NGK 5 kilo-Ohm coil and boot and earned a cool 3mph! And this is with the dirty and worn out spark plug, now to switch to a new plug. It does, however, backfire at idle every now and then not very often I need to advance the timing a bit.
Got a photo of the coil and where you got it and how much?

Awesome. Even with just a fresh boot, you may notice a slight performance increase. Gotta love those simple replacements.
