Aluminum can silencer review.

Are you having problems finding the right beer can to silence that annoyingly loud stinger of yours? I have tried quite a few different cans now and heres the deal. There really isn't enough reviews of parts on this site so I thought I'd chime in with one of my own.

Old English 800 24oz can- this thing is as cheap as its original contents. Expect it to rip to shreds after less than 50 miles.

Labatt Blue 24oz- more of the same. Though it does match my moped better. The contents are just a wee better.

Miller High Life 24oz- yup. Shredded after about 30 miles. Still, can't go wrong with the champaign.

Rockstar Energy 24oz- I can't tell you how long these last, due to my own mistake this thing shot of my pipe like a Patriot Missile during a rally ride, no time to stop and collect it. Great selection of colors, tastes like shit.

Cinnabon- Tiny can gives a higher pitch zing to your exhaust note. Contents are oh so delicious but the can last like 10 miles.

Budweiser- Same as all the other crap 24oz cans. The beer is meh.

Sapporo 1 pint 6 oz- I think I have found the right can. This thing seems made to last. Its heavy and strong. Please do not try to crush these things on your forehead, you will cause damage to your bean. The beer is alright I guess, not worth the 3 bucks if not for the can.

Thats it for now, watch for updates.

i found that wd40 cans work great! but make sure you get all the stuff out before cutting into it!

That would work good. You may still get pulled over for the noise but at least you don't have to worry about getting an open container violation.

Heineken Keg Can? Huge, but strong.

at the portland rally i noticed sparks cans were the silencer of choice

Re: Aluminum can silencer review.

yeah, chicago kurt has been doing the sparks thing for over a year now. he says it doesn't really make it quieter, but works great to redirect the sound out the back of the bike, rather than right below him where the stinger ends

Just use an old aluminum Bud bottle. Nice red color till it burns off!

Re: Aluminum can silencer review.

We just used this brake cleaner can for a semi silencer on a stock rat bike with a high tourqe cylinder, sounds bad ass loud and the bike rips.

Re: Aluminum can silencer review.

If you want a really small silencer you could try a starbucks double shot can. They have super thick side walls.

Re: Aluminum can silencer review.

soup can bitches!

Re: Aluminum can silencer review.

Classic! I'll throw this can of Pabst on the end of my Doppler exhaust tomorrow and have my moped smell like a hipster.

Re: Aluminum can silencer review.

go with something sturdy. having shawn's can shoot back at you @ 35 mph = slightly terrifying.

That was some funny shit there.

Re: Aluminum can silencer review.

I think sparks holds up a wee bit better than cheap beer but always got more compliments with the miller highlife can, and the w-d 40 can performed best but is a hassle to set up in a hurry. As for cheap accessible packing, I prefer mid-weight steel wool. The fine stuff is a bit dense and doesn't breathe as well. Tinfoil is out, despite its debatably superior silencing power- it shredded immediately and made me worry it was getting sucked in. :(

My poor moped. I treated it to a new pipe and it rides like a million bucks.
