bogging out on WOT

Now when I hit around 30-35 on WOT (which takes a little while) It gets a bit jerky. It feels as though the choke is being pulled. If it does it long enough without letting off the gas the thing will die. plus when I let it idle it will die out. I have adjusted the hell out of the idle and even if I give it gas the thing will die on me when I am not moving.

help please

65ccmetrakit za50 15mm amal carb 45 jet (I know i know) Bullet pipe

BootyClap Ninja /

its your carb jetting...too rich. Down jet.

Save your money and get a damn dellorto, makes life easier. 19mm PHBG for that kit to get max performance.

you should be doing 45-50 on that kit with porting.

Go big or go home.

I already answered this problem in a previous post. Please go and reread.

Re: bogging out on WOT

You think that will help my WOT situation. I was planning on doing this tonight at work. I just want this thing to work properly for the rally this weekend. Only thing I am worried about if I upjet tonight is my air flow situation. I have no way of getting a new filter by this weekend. plus all I have for Dellorto jets is a 65 and a 74. So if either of those don't work properly then I and SOL on riding this weekend.

Re: bogging out on WOT

Well. The needle trick is going to help everything but WOT. Sounds like your 4 stroking so you would need to go to a smaller main jet. Thats where the jet bit comes in.

Re: bogging out on WOT

smaller than a 45? that just seems unlikely to me. Not saying you are wrong, would a higher flow filter help out with the fuel situation, giving it more air to compensate the fuel?

Re: bogging out on WOT

that sounds crazy low!. i have 15 bing, 65 metra, promo pipe, 82 jet. if you bog at WOT its lean, not getting enough fuel!!

Re: bogging out on WOT

Yes the hi flow filter is going to help alot. The Amal filter is very restrictive. I was using a #45 jet with an 70cc kit and now need a #60 with the new filter.

He lists bogging in the title but describes 4 stroking in the text. They are 2 opposites I know.

Re: bogging out on WOT

Try running w/o the filter for a little trial and error.

Re: bogging out on WOT

Yeah, just take the guts out of the filter. You could also use some panty hose stretched over it if you don't feel safe running with nothing there for a temperary fix.

Re: bogging out on WOT

I did not know there was a difference between 4-stroking and bogging. I believe it is 4stroking. Looks like I am buying some pantyhose on the way home from work tonight. Wraping it around the retention clip for the filter, then snapping that in place without the screen and foam should do fine?.. 'ooks like tomorrow morning I will be trying a few jets out.

Any.chane anyone knows what size the jet is on an amal carb. say if I were to make something with a piece of threaded rod or a bolt to hold the dellorto jets. I dont want to drill out my only amal jet to find out the dellortos dont help any . Then I am really SOL with no amal jet to put back it.
