i want to install a battery in my 2001 tomos sprint
whats it missing...
do i need a certain type of scooter/motorcycle battery to get 6 amps (for my new horn)

Ok - this will work for you.
The voltage regulator is not the one you have now. You will need a new one.
The AC loads will be your lights.
The DC loads can be what you want - like your new horn, and any other DC loads that you want.

there are 4 wires out of that plug...

Man, look around a little. It's right on the web-page I pointed you to. But, here it is anyway.
AC loads are your lights. The lights and your stock horn were all AC powered. There was no DC on your stock Tomos.
Your horn would be DC. Your future neon lights would be DC.

I should have said - your new horn would be DC.
The nice thing about this set up is that it splices into your existing harness pertty easy.

If you are talking about the wire in the picture, that says "to white wire from engine", then that goes to one of the two wires coming out of your engine (the one that is not going to the CDI).
You can connect your headlight to whereever you want. This approach gives you flexibility.
I suggested that you keep your lights on the AC system since that reduces the wiring changes you have to make. Your choice.

If you look at the picture provided, there is only one wire that has the words "to white wire from engine" next to it. The wire it is pointing to looks to be green.
No offense here - but are you even looking at the pic? I can't make it any clearer.
P.S. You've consistenty used the phrase "CDI", and I've used it too, so you could follow along, but according to an A35 manual, your Tomos doesn't have CDI - just a plain points-type ignition. The part you have labelled CDI is actually the ignition coil. It doesn't change the wiring you've drawn out, but when communicating with others, it will be helpful to call it what it is.

alright... well it looks like a dirtbike cdi box kind of so that is what i thought it was.
The question mark should go to ground.
Also, if you're not going to use the AC output, then it looks OK.
Yes, you have it right.
The YELLOW wire coming from your engine goes to the regulator/rectifier.
The BLACK wire coming from your engine goes to your ignition coil.

i think it is part of my tail light because it came from the back...
if it isnt it is already grounded so i wont touch it if i dont need to.

On your drawing, the wire from the battery negative terminal goes to a question mark. The battery negative needs to be connected to ground.

Even the smallest lead acid 12V battery can give you 6 amperes of current. It is my opinion that you can use the smallest (in physical size) battery you can find.

oh and if that black is part of the tail light do i just ground it with some wire or do i need to find the ground from the magneto
There is no way for me to know.
My A35 schematic shows that BROWN is used for grounds.
It also shows that BLACK is for the ignition circuit. It shows two black wires:
- one black wire goes to the engine shut off switch; and
- the other black wire goes to the ignition coil.
Sorry - can't help much with this particular question. You could always just track the wire back to its actual source - and see what it is for.
