40mph on a kitted ciao and tons of shit, fucking stock gearing
40mph on a kitted ciao and tons of shit, fucking stock gearing
58mph on my magnum - estimated
63mph on my derbi -gps
the derbi is soon to be faster though because:
I dont tuck
15mm carb
wide ass tires
super SECRET custom pipe in the works.
see you all in september in SF
hahahahahahahahahah you guys crack me up with your top speed fantasys
You obviously don't understand the capabilities of the two stroke engine. If you notice, some of these top speeds are GPS confirmed. And if a cyclist can do 81mph, why can't a moped?

Dan T...you are the biggest fucking ass ever.
Don't believe it? Come to a rally old man.
Oh, and Dan, your biturbo maxi is not going 45.
Dan T, stop being a jealous hater. Come to some rallies and get blown away fool!
Also Dan T, you're not going 45mph on your Maxi. I have a 65cc Metrakit, Estoril exhaust, 16/16 SHA, bored intake, high-comp head, etc. and I barely go 45mph on my Maxi.
I think it was you Bret who was blasting around riding doubles on your Motobecane, passing everyone (me at least) at the last Sac rally, with two people. That was neat.
HEhehehehehehehehe
Not to beat a throughly dead horse, but:
"here is a video of a 80cc Puch going about 80mph.":http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EcJJdNuvWXE&feature=related Granted, it does sound like he has gearing. You can imagine with the right single gear, an 80cc puch COULD go 70mph.
Come on Dan, believe this!
it says on the comments kreidler bottom end. seems to be sort of common over there, but still sweet. one of my fav euro puchs is that black one with red faded from the front that has a kreidler engine.
Yeah. The gears make a huge difference. Justin in Reno has a 50cc Suzuki 5 speed (I think) that goes over 50mph. Pretty rad still.
mine on its first ride in 22 years done 31 mph yesterday :)
(1972 honda pc50)
mine is about 20-23mph.... @ 25mph it boggs out. still needs some work. Thnik a dead battery is to blam. 1984 Suzuki FA50.
that sucks
25 flat 31 down hill maybe alittle more depending on wind and how cold night time is the fastest time in mass
77 garelli super sport - 24
77 motobecane 50v - 30
any suggestions on how to get the garelli going faster? its totally stock, i'm new to the garellis and would love to hear what you guys think would be the best.
really? i have a stock magnum and it goes about 33. I'm looking to add a kit and a new pipe, why does yours go so slow?
_any suggestions on how to get the garelli going faster? its totally stock_
It seems that a Garelli takes a bit of work to improve.
I've removed the airbox, smoothed, chamfered and port-matched the cylinder ports an intake manifold, brazed up a midimoto expansion pipe to fit and up-jetted.
I've not gained much top speed: 32 mph according to a "This is your speed" road-side speed detector, but top end acceleration is improved a bit. The bike will do an indicated 40mph on a slight or steep downhill, which is presumably rpm limited.
I'm going to try improving the exhaust-cykinder interface a bit and redtrict the muffler tailpipe size to try to bring the powerband down a bit.
Before: 1980 Puch Maxi. Stock bottom, aftermarket piston, hi-torque cylinder/head, techno estoril, 16/45 gearing and 14 bing, was hitting 31 mph.
After: roller bearing crank, 3 shoe clutch (getting ready for a kit) and the only other thing I changed was going down to a 14/45 gearing. I am now hitting 36 mph.
Problem was, with that taller front sprocket I was not letting the engine hit a higher RPM so the pipe could do its job. Now it has great acceleration AND good speed.
TRON = 51.7 with ever-torquey 11x39 gearing
gps, son.
thanks jason bandit for letting me use your garmin thingy.
HOLY CRAP!
How fast did your maxi go before drilling the hole? I can only get mine around 22 mph
Ha! Those with gears are...
08 sprint, just installed a 87 jet = 55mph!
1978 JC Penny Swinger I(Rigid)
65cc Metra (Broken-in)
Cased Matched
14mm Bing (74 Jet)
14mm intake
High Flow Air Filter
Bi Turbo Pipe
17/41 Gearing
In a tuck I can stay with Dallas who was GPSed at 50.6 mph this past weekend!

holly cow old thread. the bike i posted about now does 37mph and is sold...
your wildfire 150 does not go 95. and its not a moped.
