I have a 78 Maxi 1 speed and 79 Maxi II 2 speed. I want to put a 70cc speed kit on 1 of them. Which one motor is better to do it with, which motor will last longer? I really like the 2 speed but not sure if it is a good motor to do it with. Any advice you can provide would be great.

Generally speaking, most people prefer the 1 speed (E50) to kit due to its simplicity/availablitly of parts/reliability.
Many people have kitted ZA50 (2 speed) but due to the extra power, it tends to be less reliable. It's definitely do-able but for a daily rider....i would go with the 1 speed and just re-gear according to your needs.
west seattle has kitted both 1 and 2 speeds, and the 1 speed is the only way to go!
If I was going to go with a 1 speed with a 70cc kit what gear would be best? I live in NH so we have some hills but it would be mostlly on a somewhat flat area with a slight incline. I was looking at a speed kit from the Moped Junk Yard comes with engine, carb, HP Pipe. but nothing about HP air box or gears?

You will be ok with 16X45 gears and dont bother with a kit if your not going to match the ports and good luck with it.
