i was wondering when a high compression head is necessary to install? what does it do and if you're switching to a bigger carb, and performance pipe, what happens if you don't have one? thanks in advance!

When you are looking for more torque.
how does it work, exactly? do you need to do anything else along with it? thanks!

it works by increasing compression, which in turn causes the piston to travel with more force (not more speed) providing you with more torque.
more heat is produced with a high compression head. its not a bad idea to get a spark plug that's a step cooler as well.
