Nitro 50? Is that a scooter?
Scooters are gay!
We don't know our scooters from a hole in the ground round here.
Maybe I'm on the wrong website but it's less than 50 cc's so what, its a moped/scooter whatever, didn't think I'd offend you "Moped people" Just looking to make this thing go over 30 mph-Jon
moped
mo-ped
mo(tor) ped(al)
motor pedal
motor + pedal
=moped
WRONG not motor + pedal, motor +pedestrian...
Jerks at times. The Tomos Nitro's are rebadged SYM scooters. Check MRP parts for some listings.
Thanks, Jon
WRONG. motor + pedal = moped.
A motor and a pedestrian is a dude carrying a weedwhacker.
yeah, you put the dude ON a motor, and he's no longer a pedestrian
its just a GY6 look on ebay theres lots of performance parts for it

Moped is short for "Motorized pedalcycle" thus having pedals like a bicycle rather than being a motor scooter.
How and when did the lines get blurred between scooters, and mopeds. I don't understand how manufacturers started calling scooters mopeds when they are classified and governed differently in almost all states. WTF??
they never called them scooters, they have always been mo-peds
The confuasion comes from the fact that the state legislators that are writing the laws do not know a moped from a scooter.
A lot of state DMVs define everything 50cc and under a "mopeds", but we know better.
Ct law-bicycle with helper motor is defined as
1. under 50cc displacement
2. single speed
3. 30 mph max speed
My experience with local police is that it is rare that they know the exact law when it comes to these things...
ahh.. who cares?
Yeah, Iowa DOT idiots have the moped/motorcycle law differently.
They changed moped from 50cc or less, to 30mph max speed. Anything faster is considered a motorcycle.
But do you think if you had a Vespa 150 governed to 30mph they would let it go as a moped? F-no! They don't even follow their own laws.
They will just say that is says motorcycle on its manufacturer origination papers and thats it, they really don't care about the speed.
Idiots!
Sorry for the bashing of my local DOT.....
i registered a c70 passport 3 speed as a moped in MI so they really don't know the rules but i did get an ugly orange sticker :P
CT moped laws do not require a 1 speed. Under 30mph, under 50cc, under 2bhp, and an automatic transmission. At least when I checked a few months back.
