i don't know anything about them firsthand, but everyone with a maxi seems to want or has one. are they that great of an exhaust for a puch? i read the review in the wiki and it wasn't very good. just wondering... thanks!

whoops... or tecno i mean!
Great performance (it's a top end pipe), good quality, and one of the cheapest pipes. PLus it's got a cool poppy sound.
Seconded. Plus, it's alot cooler looking than the biturbo, being all chrome (unless you order the flat black one), it doesn't look like it was cobbled together by russian monkeys, and it works with stock bikes as well as kitted bikes
cheap $60, comparable (i did not say better) performance top end to simonini, and homoet 6/8p. Better mid and low range than both.
looks hella nice almost stock, you can keep your pedals. easy to install, clean lines, huge header, comes in black or chrome.
the lowend is not bad, but there are other cheapo pipes with better lowend (proma gp, for example)
IMO best puch pipe all around. wen it hits it pulls right up to top speed, fast.
I knew elliot would chime in on this one :)
The black one is way better than the chrome one. F chrome.
It really is the best all around pipe.
How would you say the Boss compares to the Estoril?
at what speed does the tecno hit at and on your bike?
i knew freebird would chime in on this one.
Lee,
I miss your face.
i modded one to fit on my pa50II and it rips plus the clean flat top line folows the swing arm and just looks good wich is 90% any way
i'd say it starts to hit at like 3000 or 4000 rpm. someone should verify with a tach tho i'd actually be interested.
if this pipe has bad lowend, tell me why i shoot up hills on a 1 speed, and still blast all at top end (well not if u gear out lolz).
if it does start to hit kinda low it makes perfect sense to run it with a polini since they have an abrupt power increase at low rpms, then a flat for 1000 or 2000 rpm between till they really start to pull up to 9000+ and the boss would accelerate the bike thru the flat spot in the mid rpms and be able to carry it out on top as well.
ummm I'm just patting myself on the back here. lee rocks my world. tommy r u in SF???
tecno circuits still my fav for low/midrange. sucks on the topend tho
well, shit... i guess i should have ordered one while they were in stock at mopedshop yesterday. they're out of stock again now...
u damn blew em up w this post dude lolz
pays to keep some shit on the DL
yeah, actually wasn't me, tho. someone posted yesterday about the tecno boss being in stock. i just wanted to know what the big deal on the pipe was.
Yeah I've been looking for one for a while, and on my morning moped surfing, I saw it was in stock. Put in my order, and then passed it on. I only needed one, so I didn't want to keep the secret or anything. Hopefully others got theirs as well.
srsly. at least i ordered when they were in stock
They are built well, have a stealthy almost stock look and for the price its hard to beat. The one mod that they can benefit from is drilling out the rivets and brazing some nuts to the inside, then you can use allen head bolts to hold the rear cap on. This will allow you to repack the silencer easily when needed.
Elliot, do you realize that it was super easy to get techno bosses all the time till you started running you mouth all the time. There wasnt a bike in LA that didnt have one for a while, and now none of the new people can get them because you wont stop talking about how great it is.
I'm not in SF either. Two broke birds canceled and Nik and I couldnt afford it on our own. I wish I could show you how hard my bike pulls up hills. With 16x36. it doesnt rip up them super hard, but it never stops gaining speeds up hils. 80cc torque!
well its good that now people can have a better "generic" aftermarket pipe besides the biturbo. those things suck.
its bad tho cuz nobody has em in stock
wow... i didn't know this would generate such a huge response. if i didn't know any better (and i don't) i'd say this is the best puch maxi pipe. i guess i might have to get one... what are some other good maxi pipes that are comparable to the tecno boss?
Proma GP is supposed to be good for the stock top end.
Check the wiki, it has tons of info on all the pipes for a Puch.
tecno circuits all day for torque/acceleration.
all u need on stockers
the wiki makes it sound like such a mediocre pipe
ok let me check the wiki
i've modded the wiki a bit to better reflect the genral opionon on that pipe as well as the proma gp, also I changed the pic cuz the one that was under techno boss is not what they look like.
I am thinking of modding one of thease pipes for my benelli g2 and would like a pic of the bolt pattern on the header before i buy to make sure it will fit can somone post a pic?
I own both a tecno boss and a proma GP. I love em both. The boss does do better top end but the pull of the proma is great. Well until you get on top of the proma's designed power band.
