Kitted Magnum speed?

HI everyone,

I have a 70cc tccd kit with a technobullet exhaust, a stock carb, but upjetted, and a performance air filter coming. How fast should I get this thing going, even if I keep my carb and do not take the time to port, which sounds complicated to me. I was thinking I should hit 45, but I could be wrong.

Re: Kitted Magnum speed?

easily... my kitted mag touches 48 (gps) and still had some left (run out of road). my moby touches 47 (gps) and is a heavier ped. plus the variator scavenges some power...

Stock carb will mean maybe 40 if you are lucky. Bigger carb (16 sha) will yield better results, maybe 45+. Magnums are heavy as shit. Despite that they are super stable at speed and nice, but you will lose a few MPH with the extra LBS.

Re: Kitted Magnum speed?

are u sure u don't have a tomos. puch magnum = the new tomos

j/k yeah i'm going to go with a hopeful 40mph on stock carb

Re: Kitted Magnum speed?

funny elliot... my moby is fast thanks to you man... i stll got your yellow 40t as a screensaver... and yeah, you need a bigger carb. i got a 16mm on the magnum, with a polini head and the tecno pipe... yep need bigger carb.

gabriel, what is your setup on the magnum?

Re: Kitted Magnum speed?

my monza is at least 25+ lbs heavier than a magnum mkII and i got it up to 60mph with pretty decent torque. then it blew up.

now im putting a tomos motor and an 80cc kit on it. SHITS GONNA FLY.

all i gotta say is riding a magnum mkii or a monza, its totally worth the extra weight. soo much smoother and much more stable. yes on a really light bike like a pinto you can rip around corners but it takes more attention. very easy to throw your weight too hard into a corner. at least with a magnum you arent as top heavy. i probably weight the same ammount as a kitted magnum.

Re: Kitted Magnum speed?

oh yeah

im sure u guys are sick of this pic by now lol.

Re: Kitted Magnum speed?

it came like this... polini kit (65cc), tecno pipe, 16 mm bing with uni filter and somewhat of a lean jetting. oem sprockets. polini intake. came like this, so not sure on timing. just got it running and i use 32:1 fully synthetic on it. But i am open to explore new setups, like the large 80cc gila kits...if available.

Re: Kitted Magnum speed?

gabriel that is a SICK setup. you should be getting 55+ out of it depending on gearing preferences. dont fuck with it. if you wanna go 80kit just build another bike. seriously. i know all about FUCKING with a biike that should be left alone.

Re: Kitted Magnum speed?

i might touch 50... but the engine is screaming at that regime. if i goose it all the way then it bogs down... i gotta keep it at like 4/5 of the throttle stop. i wonder what kind of sprocketry combo would i need to make it more sedated in the rpm department. plus it sounds real tin like when you let go of the trhottle at that speed. is it true that keeping it at a light throttle leans it out? should i worry about damaging it? ifeel more comfortabel running my moby WOT all day... it always seems to be running just right. both run 32:1 synth.

Re: Kitted Magnum speed?

I smell another. Why did my Polini Seize? post a commin. Please upjet that thing bigtime before its to late.
