Anyone run a mk65 w/ a 17mm bing?

I.R.E. Mike Pee /

This is the setup I'm going to try soon. Good idea? Bad idea? Suggestions on a jet size to start with (I've got a range from like 60 to 100 - just looking for a starting point). I'd be going on a za50 with a tecno boss.

Re: Anyone run a mk65 w/ a 17mm bing?

I was GONNA do that, but treats sold out of metrakits so fast... drat... I got a tccd with a 17 bing and intake, i'm going to start at 100 and go down from there

Re: Anyone run a mk65 w/ a 17mm bing?

I think I've got an 84 in the carb right now. I was thinking of starting with that since it's the lazy way to go, do some plug choppin', and move on from there.

Re: Anyone run a mk65 w/ a 17mm bing?

you think? even with intake porting, case match, etc.? Still in the 80's?

Re: Anyone run a mk65 w/ a 17mm bing?

yeah i ran high 80's with 17mm bing and a 65 metra, with the homoet 6p, fully ported with a uni filter

Re: Anyone run a mk65 w/ a 17mm bing?

whwere did you find the manifold? if you have another one or something that will work, i will buy one from you.

Re: Anyone run a mk65 w/ a 17mm bing?

metrakits tend to take smaller jets. mid 80's should do. If you are cautious low 90's. 100 is overkill.
