Here is what I been working on this week and it rips
I think she looks pretty good man.
I need to fab up something for my peugeot 103... That exhaust is tiiiny.
Shit man, you're hitting near 40 with that?? Nice! I didn't think you'd get it all welded up so quick. You got the ped fever. hahaha
So do you not want that biturbo now? haha
Pretty sweet, now make a bracket to support it, or else you will break off your exhaust studs!
M1?
Looks great. Nice to see guys cutting, welding and grinding.
Hahaha, yeah we got drunk and attacked the rigid with powertools. It survived. And is somewhat closer to being ready to paint.
Awesome pic Mark. haha
lol hell yeah man git r dun I cant wait until sunday
and it does have a bracket if you look close to the last pic you can see the acorn nut that holds it in place
yes its a m1
Oh yeah I still want that other pipe too if not on the pacer than maybe on my maxi or something
Mark it's allmost as loud as the open header but a more poppy tone sounds very cool all the time i.e. wot ,idle
i put that same pipe on my minarelli
maybe went like 35 but sounded like crap

so i made this one sounds a lot better and goes faster
I finally got to try my modified midimoto expansion exhaust yesterday, and threw in a 66 jet. It's a bit louder than stock, with some popping at tickover -it now sounds like a proper two-stroke. At higher rpm, the induction noise is still louder than the exhaust ;)
Compared with the stock square pan exhaust I don't seem to have lost any bottom end. In fact it seems quicker off the mark(?) and it reached 30 quickly on part throttle (not wanting to annoy the neighbours with the noise!) Unfortunately, my "hose clip and beer can" header-to-pipe attachment didn't last long enough to try out a max speed run.... When the pipe fell off, the noise was, er, LOUD.
Oh I gotta see that sounds pretty funny looking. post a pic
When I get chance to braze the pipe properly, I'll put up a pic.
mopedjay where did you get that expantion chamber at?
I just got that Biturbo and I want to try it out to compare it to my pipe but it wont fit without some cutting so has anyone put one on a morini and how'd you fit the huge header in there.?Do you cut the header or fins or both or what? Hows it run ?
Here is my home-modified Midi-moto pipe on the Garelli:
I fitted a 66 jet and it seemed to run fine on the way to work. I'll check the plug when I get home.
The engine feels less 'strangled' than before, acceleration feels a bit better(when not carrying lots of files to work), but top speed is only slightly better.
-A bigger drive sprocket may help?. (It will rev higher, though, as I saw an indicated 40 downhill with the original exhaust so I was hoping for the same on the flat with the new pipe.)
If anything, it reaches the powerband at high speed and then runs out of revs. Maybe some back-pressure might help?
Would it benefit from a change in ignition timing?
As it stands, it looks a lot better, sounds a lot better, I've a little improvement in performance, but probably using a lot more fuel at WOT.
