I have read on searches I have done, you can pop out the brass 10mm bearing in the tomos A3 pushrod and pop in a puch stock bearing and it will be the 12mm.
And this will work so you can put a puch or a tomos speed kit on the A3.

What was the question?
haha, i got so caught up in it i for got to put the question down
so is this all you have to do to be able to kit an A3?
someone answer this for me please.
Bump from the pastttttttt
you will have to make an intake and exaust! also http://www.mopedarmy.com/wiki/Kit_a_Tomos_A3
and some very good base gaskets!
how does one make bad base gaskets?
you can also press in a con-rod from a puch or an aftermarket puch con rod, or ream out the stock rod to fit a roller bearing
have you kitted an A_3 ???? i have and if you dont get the gasket just right you will have a massive air leak.... there is a verry thin line between the kit and the case...
so you gotta have good gaskets and press in a puch con-rod and thats it?
doesn't sound too bad
you don't have to press in a puch con-rod. but you can if you want a better stronger motor.
wouldn't you need to in order to get the 12mm?
no man just the wrist pin bushing thats in the end of the connecting rod...
oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh ok
so like the bearings on the Piston side of the rod?
just buy some puch brass bearing?
or the other option is to press in a new tomos rod also right?
Or ream it out, which i'm guessing is like drilling it out kinda
yeah, reaming is done with a reamer, and is precise, drilling has a lot of variation in surface finish and tolerance.
Alright thanks!
Someone should Wiki this. I would right now but i'm hungrryy.,....
bump
im in the process of kitting an a3 right now.... I cant get this damn brass bushing out!
anybody have any suggestions?
my brothers just slid out so I can't help you.
how have you people pushed out the brass bushing from the A3? Mine is in there pretty good, so i was thinking put some heat on that bad boy to get it out maybe.
and i know, this is 4 months old.
Use a press.
I've been lead to understand that the A3 motors marked "N" already have the 12mm con rod.
Is this true?
what do you think about the heat option? not a good idea? id rather not have to take the engine off/apart.
get 2 sockets, on to fit the the outside of the rod, and one that fits the bushing and will go through the hole, get a long bolt and nut and put it through both ends of the sockets through the hole and it will work like a press and you tighten the bolt...
exdasnowman, you are a genious. i love you
i did it on the ped with a micro file just do it in 2 spots like you are cutting with a knife just stop short of going all the way through than hit it tell it pops works but takes to long time
your way is way faster
Also can use a C clamp, a socket and a bigger socket.
I used a conrod(hope thats the right word) bearing from an E50 motor and the wrist pin/everything went on just fine. Used an A35 alukit, went perfect. My shit rides great and I have not fucked anything up. I am also still on stock bearings/seals from 1980. A3's are pretty rad imo.
If you use an E50 bearing than you can kit it with A35 stuff...intake manifold(reed) and exhaust is the same from A3 to A35 so that's easy enough.
yeah yeah. I am putting a A35 Kstar 70cc kit on mine. YOu have inspired me Jewish. I will prob email you sometime soon looking for tips and whatnots on your build.
wait your gonna use a puch kit on the A-35 ?or an A-35 kit on a puch??
