has anyone done the 45 degree cuts in thier clutches on stock tomos. how did it work? and how many cuts per pad? I found a thread but it was on a modified ped.

how about the clutch spring mod?
yea i heard about that im curious about it myself hope you find your answer.
performed it today on my stock ped. what a difference. much smoother shifting and no slipping.
This allows the clutch to GRAB. The same theory applies to brake pads. If you do it to your brakes, you get captons more stopping power, b/c the heat and dust is disapated quicker. the dust goes into the channel that you just cut, and the heat goes away b/c it has no other place to go. You do it to a clutch and it shifts smoother due to the trans fluid not getting trapped between the pads and the clutch bell.
let us know what u did
how many cuts per pad, how wide the cuts
what you used to cut etc...
thanks
I used my dremel with a small cut off wheel. Two 45 degree cuts in each pad about 1/8 in wide in the first clutch and three in the second. But I also relined my clutches with longer strips of cork than the stock setup. With the stock clutch I would probly try just one cut per pad.
what glue did u use to attatch the new cork to the clutches?
