So I just dropped the ball.....

Just ordered my Gila 80cc Kit + Simo Exhaust.

I was sitting there for like 5 minutes with my finger on the "Place your Order Now" button on Ebay. I was having last second thoughts of maybe saving an butt load of money and just hit up a cheap TCCD kit. Fuck It, I just had to do it.

What kind of performance should I be expecting out of this setup?

1200+

Re: So I just dropped the ball.....

Should've grabbed a couple extra clutches as well.

Speed will correlate directly to tuning ability.

You will get $450 worth of speed out of this setup.

Re: So I just dropped the ball.....

yeah i plan to overhaul the shit out of the engine.

I only went ahead and bought these 2 items since I heard the GILA was out of production and will be hard to find sooner or later.

My list of other shit to buy is ridiculous.

It's ok though since it will be this summer's bigtime project.

I will soon start a Blog documenting all my work from start to finish. This shit will be sickkkkk

Other Magnums.....watch the fuck out.

Re: So I just dropped the ball.....

who said I wasn't using a ZA50 :]

Re: So I just dropped the ball.....

There is alot on this kit. I would never buy something without read up on it first. Classic first timer.

There's actually not a ton on here about this kit. I did a search and there's not nearly as much as compared to the 80 metra, or any other kit at all.

I've got one coming, so we'll see how it goes.

Re: So I just dropped the ball.....

Hhaha, im no first timer son.

I've read EVERY single thread on gila kits and know whatsup. Already have a guesstimate as to mikuni carb settings for break in and ideas for properly grinding down the case to fit that HUGE piston skirt.

It's really not all that hard to install this kit, people are just scared of dremeling their case and turning it into a worthless piece of metal.

Only reason I made this thread is to see how other guys with similar setups doing during break-in or post-break in.

btw, Mopagen....I noticed you reside in Hagerstown. We should have a DC Metro area ride when I get this magnum project done during the summer time! There are so sick roads in our area its atrocious.

Re: So I just dropped the ball.....

a lone rider here buddy. Im ten years older then you btw kid.

Re: So I just dropped the ball.....

Well you are just straight up old then....lol

Re: So I just dropped the ball.....

lol..:)

Re: So I just dropped the ball.....

Hmmm.. I wonder what the piston size... True cc's ?

Re: So I just dropped the ball.....

its more like 75cc's. 46.5mm piston

Re: So I just dropped the ball.....

the roads around Blacksburg will be AWESOME for riding that. I THINK Hippy is using that set up on a Magnum he is working on. I could be absolutely incorrect on this one. I will talk to him and see.

Re: So I just dropped the ball.....

Yeah there are a TON of great rides around here. Long stretches of country road for miles for those crucial tuning plug chops and finding out your max speed :]

Blacksburg is an ideal town for the moped life.

I concur.

Re: So I just dropped the ball.....

I used to ride out Roanoke St make the turn at the cemetary and ride out into the valley....GORGEOUS.

I will be down there in the next couple weeks and want to try and bring a bike to ride with you guys

Re: So I just dropped the ball.....

Joe that sounds great. The ride you mention is fucking awesome. Not too many cars and theres a lot of twist and turns to fly around.

I love blacksburg.

Re: So I just dropped the ball.....

yeah...it's wonderful...do you guys ever hit that quarry off of the railroad tracks down there? i have no idea what the road names are, but I think I still know how to get there.

fun fun fun fun times.

what is the best way to get in contact with you...to let you know of my plans down there? I might be gay and bring a Tomos because I haven't finished tuning my Magnum and I have been so damn busy
