Need Moped To go Faster!@@##$%^&**(

i just got a used 2005 tomos targa lx and it does not have a biturbo

i know where to buy it and how to install it but i was looking to also get a high flow air filter to make it go at least 45 but i was reading and 1977mopeds.com said that you should up jet

What is this and how do i do it?

Ad if i am going to get a biturbo what should it be a 2 peice or a one peice??

Do i need to upjet if i only get a biturbo??

Thanks

Jason

i love new jersey.

Re: Need Moped To go Faster!@@##$%^&**(

Ok.

uh huh,

Increasing the gas to air ratio in the carburetor by changing the jet size to one about 4-6 points higher.

Probably a one piece.

Yes, but less.

Re: Need Moped To go Faster!@@##$%^&**(

apple juice and down jet

Re: Need Moped To go Faster!@@##$%^&**(

or up jet... i don't know

Re: Need Moped To go Faster!@@##$%^&**(

speed holes, also don't overlook the muffler belt. aftermarket ones are faster. I<3 NJ!

Re: Need Moped To go Faster!@@##$%^&**(

A jet is what goes is a small piece of machined metal that allows the gas to enter the float bowl if you have ever had your carb apart you should know what im talking about now. Upjetting allows more gas to enter the float bowl this supplies more gas to the engine. Make sure if you do put in a bigger jet you add a hi flow airfilter as you stated. If you dont the carb will just flood out because the carb also needs air. If you add both the jet and the air filter you will create more power (duh). To answer your second question you do not need to change jets for your exaust many of my friends have biturbos and they do not have a different jet as far as I know my guess is your moped will go 40-42 with the biturbo and hopefully 45 with the jet and the hi flow air filter added also.

Re: Need Moped To go Faster!@@##$%^&**(

GOSH how many people from jersey ask this...i dont count :)

Re: Need Moped To go Faster!@@##$%^&**(

we just need one sick NJ moped gang...only biturbo's and Tomos allowed...nobody over the age of 16.

Re: Need Moped To go Faster!@@##$%^&**(

yea that would be sweet because we could all go 50 with biturbos on stock peds

Re: Need Moped To go Faster!@@##$%^&**(

I go 60 on my stock tomos with bi-turbo.

didn't even have to re-jet.

I swear.

didn't we JUST do this?

Re: Need Moped To go Faster!@@##$%^&**(

False

Re: Need Moped To go Faster!@@##$%^&**(

another 15 year old jersey kid

buy a 65cc cylinder kit Bigger carb change the front and back sprocket, air filter, performance pipe and most likely you will need to upjet

Re: Need Moped To go Faster!@@##$%^&**(

A jet isn't what allows gas to enter the float bowl. Its what allows gas to exit the float bowl.

Re: Need Moped To go Faster!@@##$%^&**(

how'd i guess this post was gonna be from new jersery?

Re: Need Moped To go Faster!@@##$%^&**(

Don't forget to lubricate the bearings on the pully for the muffler belt. Free speed is the name of the game on a ped.

Re: Need Moped To go Faster!@@##$%^&**(

dude, seriously, open up your johnson cage, it's near they flywheel....there's a skegway pin in there that needs to be adjusted 1.15-1.186 counter clockwise. your emulsion will be a lot better when the skegway sits around a mm back

Re: Need Moped To go Faster!@@##$%^&**(

you go up to 1.186? i was told to never go past 1.18. i mean i am kind of conservative and don't want to blow up my engines, but still never heard that. what sort of difference would that make?

i am currently running this set up:

63.7 airsal

tecnigas next

daelim intake

16 phbg carb

double ridge malossi float belt

skegway pin to 1.175

27 front sprocket

i top out around 53mph GPS

Re: Need Moped To go Faster!@@##$%^&**(

man, at 1.186 the skegway gave me better off the line but i set it there cuz i have a 10shot of nos.

current setup is

68.97cc airsal

technigas plus (got it from netherlands)

daelim intake

16:16 dellorto

27tooth sprocket

motad muffler belt

K&N air fliter

ostio dyno tuned my timing also

New Jersey fucking rules, end of story. Cory, you're just jealous because you live in a cow town. jaszim2, you can order jets from treatshq, which is an ebay store (just google "treatshq" and click the link that has ebay in it). if you're not sure which ones to get, email the seller; his name is benji and he's very helpful. changing your jet is super easy, just read the part of your manual that describes disassembling and reassembling your carburetor to find out how. if you don't have a manual, you can find it in the moped wiki and download it.

Re: Need Moped To go Faster!@@##$%^&**(

i mean, I hate on NJ...but I let the Local Heros stay at my house last weekend and would do it again, so I think that evens it out. And...to be fair I do make fun of VA as well as well most everything else.
