I'm mounting a Tomos A55 engine in a custom made frame. For aesthetics I'd like to change the angle to a less horizontal angle to slightly more vertical angle.
Will this hinder performance?
BTW, I have no problem modding the exhaust header.

Oh, and I'm also making a custom intake so the carb wil sit level.
I don't think the motor will care but the tranny might.
You really should keep it as horizontal as possible. Tilting it may cause issues due to lack of lubrication in the transmission. Overfilling it might help help some but its also possible that you could experience leakage.
yeah, i you are going for a horizontal look use the 200cc lifan motor. mmmmmm
I'm looking to only change the angle by a few degrees. Going up a steep hill would change the angle more. Thanks for the info.
i'm sure you'd be fine, a few people have problems with the shaft seals leaking/ blowing out from running too much oil, but a lot of people overfill and get away with it, as long as it is bathing the bottoms of all the gears and clutches and stuf you'll be fine.
