all of those make your bike go BROOOOOMMM BRROMM BRRRRRRROOOOOMMM
that's what the people at the dealership told you??? shame on them!!!
this thread is full of win.
Dont listen to these California goons. Upjetting is putting a larger main jet in the carburetor to provide the engine with more fuel. If your planning on putting a biturbo (not the biodegradable turbo) on your bike you may need to Upjet if its running leaner. You will also need a high flow air filter. And as sprockets are concerned for top speed you will want to go larger on the front and smaller on the rear. They make a 27 tooth for the front but you will have to grind some material off the inside of the case that covers the sprocket to get clearance. And run a 22 tooth on the rear. Good luck.
Also hows Jersey these days, i spent four years in Jersey City getting mugged and eating Spanish pussy, i miss that place.
Thanks brad.
Sometimes MA members forget that they had to learn how to work on bikes too.
That's what this forum is here for.
John, in the future, there is a search function at the top of the page that can help you to find this info in old posts.
If you use the moped wiki (also at the top of the page), it is a great resource.
Hope you have fun on your new moped.
also john, be afraid of eric sabatino, he likes to touch butts.

wheres the butt touching going down?
mike you live in RVA. i think you know damn well where butt toching is going down. also, this is the home of innapproriate boner.
Hey John,
Getting back to the subject, you may have problems installing 27 tooth front gear. It is the straight gear and not the bell shaped gear used by the Arrow R, Revival, and Streetmate. The Sprint, ST, and LX have a clearance problem when using a larger gear than stock. There is a sensor in the way of clearance for a straight gear versus the bell shaped gear. The biturbo has a better high end and is slow off the line and in the mid range. It seems to start pulling in the upper range better than the Technigas. The Technigas pipe is a better all around pipe. It has a better low and mid range and the high speed is about 1 to 2 mph slower and that is not shabby as it will be a while before anyone catches you.
Have you read the article in Dec. Scoot Magazine on "Kit Your Tomos"? With the A55 carb speed kit upgrade from 1977 Moped and a Technigas pipe you will be going 40++ mph with the stock gears. Maybe 50+ with a 22 tooth rear gear?
Have fun riding,
Marvin
the 22 tooth rear is the way to go.
...I also touch butts.
jersey city's still awesome, btw - we call it chilltown now . . . can't wait to move back there in june!
