new tomos

i want to get a new tomos but i was wondering if it would ever go faster than 30. would it be easy to get it to go faster?

Re: new tomos

very easy.....

Re: new tomos

what would you have to put on it?

Re: new tomos

The search feature is useless on this site!

Re: new tomos

I agree, search on this forum is the worst search I've ever seen on a forum.

That aside, this is hands down the best moped side out there, so I don't complain.

Very easy to make a Tomos go 40+, change your sprockets (bigger front smaller rear), performance exhaust (Tecno Estoril FTW), Airsal 65cc kit, bigger carb or just use a larger jet.

Easy stuff, you'll go fast even if you don't portmatch the kit.

Re: new tomos

I just wish that the thread only would come up once if you searched only titles, other than that is not too bad.

Re: new tomos

well if your gonna get a brand new tomos with an a55 put on an a35 biturbo weld a custom bracket and do an open air filter jet accordingly my friend runs this setup and his ped hits 42

Re: new tomos

why the a35 biturbo and not the a55 biturbo?

Re: new tomos

or why not a good pipe? lol

Re: new tomos

yeah, change the gearing and put the better airbox on. Even better, have them do it for you at the shop. Shouldn't cost more than an additional $50, and you'll be hanging out in the 40 neighborhood. Don't put an A35 pipe on it, they make A55 pipes. But depending on if yer getting a warranty, and what that warranty says, don't put a pipe on it at all. Voiding a warranty to get another couple miles an hour is stupid, especially if something does go wrong with that ped.

Re: new tomos

alright ill see if they can do it where im buying it. thanks for the advice. maybe ill wait untill the warranty expires then do more stuff to it.

Re: new tomos

that's a good plan.

Re: new tomos

You probably won't need to do anything other than change the pipe to get speeds in the 30's.

Re: new tomos

right, except the other things are cheaper, will get him in the high 30s, and will not void his warranty. People are silly.

Re: new tomos

search function is useless? really? uhhhhh. wow. really? it's pretty easy and usefull every time i use it. doesn't seem that hard to use. hmmmmm??? very odd.

You must be a genious. Unfortunately I'm not.

I'm accustomed to the far simpler search feature used on most forums.

Just bask in the knowledge of your obvious superiority and try to take pity on those of us with diminished abilities. ;-)

Re: new tomos

allright ive scene this in a post before but if i have a i think it was 27 tooth thing in the front and a 20 in the back that will give me more top speed or faster acceleration?

if you get an Lx,

i suggest switching the back sproket to a 22 tooth,

so you dont have to make hard adjustments,

but you still loose low end.

i got mine up to about 37-38ish

if you get a streetmate,

switch it to a 22 also but you loose a lot of low end.

my freind got his up to 39-40ish.

they cost about $12-16 for 1.

Re: new tomos

do you know if the sprint would lose alot of low end?

Re: new tomos

not too much if its a 28 tooth

and you are switching to a 22.

its a pretty good adjustment,

just be very gentle on it or you'll burn the clutch out.

get a tecnigas pipe and your torque will come back.
