Need advice for Malossi63cc(Moby) break-in

So I got myself a 63cc Malossi for my Moby from Europe over the christmas holidays. I have a Dellorto15/15 sha and the bigger intake. The rest is bone stock. No port matching. I am considering a 73 or 78 jet for the break-in period. The french/italian manual what came with it, suggest a 20:1 gas to oil mix ratio and a Marelli 240w as the proper spark plug. I try to run a NGK B8RHS, since I coudn't find any cross reference for this particular plug.

What are you running?

dont run a brhs

run a B7HS or a B8HS if you feel like it

Re: Need advice for Malossi63cc(Moby) break-in

Thanks maitland

I run a BR6HS on my stock setup without probs. I just figured the speedkit runs more hot, so I get a colder plug.

Re: Need advice for Malossi63cc(Moby) break-in

You'll be good with a 74-78 jet. 78 being probably too rich, 74 maybe a little lean.

Maity is right, a B7HS plug is really good on that kit.

the BR will give you problems. The only time you should run a resistor plug is on a CDI. even then, maybe.

Re: Need advice for Malossi63cc(Moby) break-in

Just to throw out a different opinion on the matter. I was running my malossi kit with a 58 jet and no airbox on my 15/15 sha with a 15mm intake from Quarterkick.com and the stock pipe. I initially tried to run the stock 68 jet with the kit but it just bogged down.

The 58 jet seemed to be fine (if not just a little lean in cold weather).

Re: Need advice for Malossi63cc(Moby) break-in

ya pylo dont run the resistor plugs in a moby there already is the unneccessary resistance in the darn plug cap. run 5% oil mix and the coolest plug you can wifout fouling which is hard to get good wif 5%. or you can run 25:1 ratio if you got castor oil to break in it makes more smoke but breaks in nice wif that.

actually best break in procedure for a moby is bring it to me and come back a month or more later. just drop it off and i will let you know when its broken in. k? lol

Re: Need advice for Malossi63cc(Moby) break-in

Thanks for your input guys,

So A NGK B7HS and a 73 jet it is. I will start from there and see how she performs.

Wari, Thanks for your kind offer of breaking-in the Moby. I don't want to burden you, so I will do the difficult task myself....lol

Re: Need advice for Malossi63cc(Moby) break-in

I would recommend matching the case though......

Re: Need advice for Malossi63cc(Moby) break-in

There is enough of a difference in the transfer profiles where it is absolutely necessary to port out your bottom end, otherwise your going to be starving your kit from gas/air mix.
