i'm doing some research on tires and was wondering if anyone has a moby wheel they could measure up in ISO / ETRTO format.
thanks!

What specifically can I measure for you on the 2.25"X17" tire?
http://sheldonbrown.com/rim-sizing.html
this is what i mean.
...
according to this, i should be able to fit moulton sized tires onto rims, assuming i can find 36 hole 17"ers, and run shwalbe stelvios.
that would RAWK!
Sorry, I don't have an unmounted tire just now.
that's OK jerry, thanks for looking for me.
this thread is leading me to believe that mike has the patience to lace wheels. right?
Wari-I've given up on finding 17" whitewalls for our Mobys. I'm wondering if 2.5" work on our bikes?
yup mike has laced 3 sets for his legnano, the latest with triple butted DT Swiss and NOS NISI Moncalieiris. i wanted the factory correct fiamme yellow labels but couldn't find them. oh well.
i used to have the front radial and the back 2/3 cross, but i'm back to 3 cross all around.
wari us lightweights might get away with some very efficient tires if we can find them ;)
jerry 2.5" is too big to fit in the fenders. 2.25 is even too big for the rear fender.
but i've got other plans ...
Mike, I don't understand. I've got 8 tires (OEM) all 2.25" and 4 of them fit the rears just fine?
Jerry who is the original equipment manufacturer?
my new savas don't fit so well under my fenders.
which is not really an issue, i'm going to be mounting them creatively anyway so that they will fit, but in it's 'stock' placement the rear fender of my 40 was definitely interfering with the tire.
maybe the 50V has more clearance?
17"x2.75 will fit.....oh, but gotta lose the fenders.
Smooth ride, though.
My 4 1979 Mobys still have the original 2.25" Michelins on. Seems that they have sufficient tread but cracked sidewalls and some small chunks out even. I'm riding them but wondering about where to dive when I'm doing 35 downhill sometimes. Would like whitewalls but I guess they're not available. Still wondering if 2.5" tires will fit without rubbing-can anyone answer this question?
Mike
i measured a 17x2 in moby wheel , it is 1365 mm
divide by pi will give u 434 iso bead seat dia.
hope this helps u
Rick
rick thanks! that's awesome man

it's cool though i have other plans in mind anyway
