do you know where to find M1 Polini Kits?!

Re: Motormarina Sebring w/ Minarelli

Early forum searched turned up an Italian native named Angelo, I suppose he is the best bet. Why do you know of other stocking suppliers?

Re: Motormarina Sebring w/ Minarelli

Angelo is the best!!

He has now(last two weeks)supplied me with two different sets

of perf.cylinders,one 60 ccm and one(on its way)86 ccm.

The first set is a original Minarell, the second is a Polini.

Get in touch asap,as he is going on holiday for some weeks now!!

Re: Motormarina Sebring w/ Minarelli

i can't wait to hear about the results when you get this V1 polini kit.

with that size of kit, and if your keeping the original intake you should go with a SHA 16MM dellorto maybe. what were you thinking carb wise mike?

Re: Motormarina Sebring w/ Minarelli

I read in another post something about 19, Ill have to wait I have a few loose ends to tie up with my ciao and SI headlights,,

Re: Motormarina Sebring w/ Minarelli

:] yeah i saw that.

nice but alot of money,

i'd pay $400 for only a magnum or a pinto..

Re: Motormarina Sebring w/ Minarelli

don't get an SHA carb...go with a PHBG. You won't have the lean spots associated with the SHA and can get a larger carb. Plus, you can tune through the entire powerband.

Perfekt Timing Angel /

Please do as Joe says. I've had the worst time getting my Polini dialed in with SHA series carbs. It's a heavy kit with a lot of metal, so the more lubrication you can feed it, the happier it will be.

get the PHBG pleaseeeee.

Re: Motormarina Sebring w/ Minarelli

You can get the Polini 75cc kit from Seattle Mopeds. The kits ship from the factory warehouse in Watsonville, CA

Re: Motormarina Sebring w/ Minarelli

also watch out for those angry clothes pins. they make for a mean enemy

Re: Motormarina Sebring w/ Minarelli

ok so Ive got a partial checklist, A PHGB carb seems the one by popular vote, Still havent decided which size yet..

I see 1977 site shows kit as sold out. When Im ready Ill call them 1st though.

Still looking for ideas on intake, pipe, and sprocket size

I need flywheel and engine cover(same side) 1st also missing LHS plastic(long, like, running board above engine)

Re: Motormarina Sebring w/ Minarelli

i rock a 70cc polini with 18(i think) apreche carb and intake with a leo vinci exhaust on my sebring. i hit 50 with awful low end.

Re: Motormarina Sebring w/ Minarelli

minarelli kit and engine btw

Re: Motormarina Sebring w/ Minarelli

18 is carb and intake size? what sprockets to cause low end issue?

Re: Motormarina Sebring w/ Minarelli

On the other hand...

I'm running a Polini 75cc kit on my V1 (City Bike) with the original 14-9 SHA carb bored to 14, jetted at 58 (rich, just short of 4 stroking). Stock elbow intake bored to 14. Stock long pipe exhaust. Strong take off and super torquey low end power. Accelerates my 6'1" 220 lb. ass up small hills. OK, so the top speed is only 35 with the stock 10/44 gearing. 12/44 gearing gets me to 38mph (GPS'd). Not too shabby for a 'ped!

Other people here may say all this is crazy-talk but guess what? I have OVER-carbed according to the recommendations that came in the instructions I got with my Polini 75cc kit.

And, yes, Angelo is the man. He will kit you up!

!

Re: Motormarina Sebring w/ Minarelli

GREAT INFO, THANKS!

Re: Motormarina Sebring w/ Minarelli

why do they suggest 14-12 with 54...that shit is dinks !

Re: Motormarina Sebring w/ Minarelli

Chance, yeah, you're totally right, it is "dinks." But I am here to tell you that shit works for me 'cept I'm at 14-14 with 58. Angelo usually recommends the SHA 15-15 which is still a tiny carb that most here will laugh at.

Like I say, it's crazy-talk!!!!

Then again, you get whole long threads of guys blowing their kits with 19s, 20s, 21s, and wondering WTF? Kinda makes me wonder sometimes. I never even soft seized mine with this little carb (mixing 40:1 synth).

Remember though. To each his own. I like my LOW END power. I'm big and heavy. Not looking for fast, looking for grunt. Not doing all day WOT either.
