Re: av7 - is this head worth saving?

i'm concerned about the pitting creating a bad seal...

Re: av7 - is this head worth saving?

damn i'm gonna have to re-shoot this.

Re: av7 - is this head worth saving?

yeah dude all it looks like is a bit of carbon on it that can be easily cleaned

Re: av7 - is this head worth saving?

Well, I do see the pitting.

Should be ok. Maybe sand it down a lil. Just a lil.

Re: av7 - is this head worth saving?

You have a little pitting but that is what gaskets are for, also if you are worried you can resurface it yourself. I used a wet cinder block and then finished it with some fine grit wet/dry sandpaper on a really flat metal table, turned out good.

Re: av7 - is this head worth saving?

see my new thread entitled 'better photos' ;)

Re: av7 - is this head worth saving?

take .010 off the head then buff out the pits in the combustion chamber

Re: av7 - is this head worth saving?

god, u guys r anal about ur parts that head will run just as good as one thats brand new, and i will see a slight increase in off the line performance, if u mill it. just run no head gasket it almost the same increase.

Re: av7 - is this head worth saving?
