Plug color/jetting/what to do?

Im running a new puch polini kit with a 4 petal reed, 15.15dellorto and a homoet 4p pipe and was experimenting with jets.

I am mixing rich at 32:1 to break it in and my spark plug is light brown which is usually ideal but since I want to run so rich shouldnt I want my plug to be more black?

Does this mean I should jet larger or should I leave it at this brown color? I am running a 93 at high altitude. Keep in mind this is all brand new equiptment and I do not want to seize.

thanks

steve

BootyClap Ninja /

what jet are you running now?

Re: Plug color/jetting/what to do?

I am running a 93 jet and while the bike runs alright the plug is brown which to me would say that I am not running rich enough to break in a kit.

Would a bigger jet size help for this break in period or should I jsut leave it where it is?

Re: Plug color/jetting/what to do?

If in doubt, upjet.

So... Upjet by a size or two.

Re: Plug color/jetting/what to do?

try to put a little bit more oil in the gas mixture

Re: Plug color/jetting/what to do?

i would think 32:1 is enough oil. anymore than that and the engine starts running hotter because there's less gas in the mix. just upjet, dude, can't hurt. you'll know if it four strokes.
