So I knew this would be a problem when I bought the Tecno Estoril but the pipe doesn't match up with the mounting bracket in the back. No big deal but it's waaaaay off with the Estoril. What kind of little things have you made to get it mounted properly, any neat tricks? You have pictures? coooooool. thanks!

i think most people just use a piece of 1/8" steel and drill two holes in it, one for the bike mount one for the exhaust. i used metal strapping for auto exhausts, wrapped around the pipe it worked well also

naw the estoril is one pipe u cant ziptie. beleive me i went through a bag in a week. its a heavy pipe and it needs a GOOD mount. especially since they are notorious for snapping at the header.
just make a bracket. use washers, no big deal.

one of the guys in our group had a run of brackets laser cut a couple months ago at work, i might still have one around, email me.

no way to the zip ties, I don't want my bike to look like garbage, nor do I want to trust my pipe mounting to some shitty plastic tie. I emailed you Graham, hopefully you still have one of those brackets. I knew I had to fabricate something, I just wanted to see some pics to get some ideas.

i have cut and rewelded a bunch of those pipes did one for paz's bike a while back. find someone who is a good welder it's not super difficult and doesn't take too long.

so you cut the mounting tab off the pipe and re-welded into the correct position for mounting? I like this idea...

leave the mount on, where the pipe circles around the case is where you cut only 3/4 through on top start out the thickness of a cut off wheel bend the pipe up then put it on to see if it fits. if it fits reweld the cut if it doesn't fit make another slice and bend a little more. one slice at a time then there are no mistakes and if you only cut 3/4 through and bend you don't have to make a jig to hold two pieces together everything is lined up perfect when you go to weld.

i used my license plate bracket to mount mine. it fits perfectly, but isnt as stable as i'd like. i might double it up somehow, or have a cross brace.

god you guys are seriously killing me here... estorils + bad mounting = broken head studs. i hate seeing perfectly good pipes and kits wrecked because somone was too lazy to spend 10 minutes drilling holes in a tab of metal. The Milwaukee bracket does a little jigger down and over, fits up perfect. I know we have a couple lying around, but i cant find a picture.

Yeah, I just got a piece of aluminum today to bend into a bracket. I know the nylon cord isn't a great idea. But it's my beater ped anyway and I wanted to ride!
