What octane do you guys run your a35's on? I have an a5 (NOT a55) and it seems to miss on 87. I think I'm going to start running 89.

run a minimum of 91, spend the 15 cents
by miss, he means misfire.

also, what about alcohol in the gas? i heard it makes the engine run hotter. is that true?
Very true! Since 87 is low quality, it has more additives in it to keep it "ok" so to speak. Not all gas has alcohol in it (gasohol), but the lower the octane, the more additives. I'm gonna try some 89, and see what happens... if it doesn't work, I'll add some octane booster to this tank, then fill with 93 from then on.
i dont have a tomos but i always run premium in my vespa si with some amsoil full synthetic 2 stroke oil.
Seriously, it is only at most 20 cents for the better gas why not use it eh?
In the UK, our standard fuel is 95 octane, with super available up to 99 octane.
-We do pay around $8 a gallon though....
