its a vespa grande................ total letdown
ooh burn!
do you have a pipe on there?
just the stock pipe
did you jet the carb?
the 13.13 comes with a #66 jet which will be way big with no pipe.
ya and im at 63
is the kit broken in yet? that still sounds big, stock is like high 40s, how are the plugs looking? the pipe just does not let that jug breathe, and the mis-matched overlapping transfer ports don't help either. still, you should definitely be going faster, something is up, maybe a leak? If not downjet.
The plugs looking fine, but it feels like it has no lowend power also
downjet
ok i will try that
thanks
yeah, i'm in the mid sixties and that is _with_ a pipe (same setup).
what is a good pipe for this setup
im thinkin about getting one
simonini are nice. proma circuits are amazing for midrange if you can find one.
Yeah, you are killing your new kit right now running with that 66 jet. If you read the instructions they say (I translated from Italian) 52-56 jet depending on your altitude and motor conditions. Then you jump to 58-62 with a new pipe, and check the plug after a while.
In FL, my buddy is running that kit, carb, and air filter... plus a polini expansion pipe.
He has a 60 jet in it...
^^^ Jcampbell speaking the truth, with a polini pipe hes running a 60 jet so without the pipe we are talking 56 probably. Also, as far as I remember there is a restrictor in the stock airbox, do not use it with the new airbox, you probably didnt but just incase. And get a pipe, your engine is taking huge breaths with the new carb/filter and cant breathe out, that causes serious backpressure...
just gunna throw an unrelated porting question in here when you bore the intake on the vespa case to 13mm what is the proper procedure for not fucking up that little square part. One of the members of our branch is doing it to her ciao.
It's in the wiki.
i jetted the carb and im still having the same problem, theres no power, im at 57 now
i hear vespas make poor kites. but i've never tried to fly one.
how many miles on this kit now? even if it's not broken in yet something is up. try it without the exhaust maybe its THAT restrictive, is it cloggy?
hows compression?
