i have 2 e50s but the clutch gears are reverse directions so the clutch cage can not interchange.
i thought they were all interchangeable, guess not

did one of those have a stock roller bearing crank? Cobras have those backwards teeth on gears.
your good!
yup the reverse one is from a cobra
the other is a racing crank with roller bearings
thanks

Aren't the Cobras ZA50's?
The first is a E50 pedal-start clutch drum, the second a E50 kickstart clutch drum.
Not interchangeable. Those clutch drums come with different secondary gears too.
the whole point with mopeds is i guess make the most of what you have
but I have two different e-50 gears just like that I swear. I wont prove it but I have gears from a French Canadian motor that I bought from ebay that had a wrong spiraling clutch gear and primary gear so now i have two and I discovered that they are more in balance... so check for your self but the Canadian one which is the backwards one is way more in balance on my end
do all e-50 riders swing the same way?
it didnt come out of a kick start motor,it came from a cobra and the cobra has peddles,my kick start case looks totaly different.
however i did notice one difference there is no cut out tab for the coil mount.
imgine trying to time this motor and you advance you timeing it would actually retard the timeing
does it actually spin backwards? that would requre either a different flywheel or different stator plate.
The engine crankshafts all run in the same rotation so timing would always be the same proceedure.
It is just that the gears are cut differently and they have to match.
the korado gears are like that they are cut back wards
Brennan was dead on ,some how he knew it was a cobra
mine is backwards just like that and i think it is a Bombardier motor. Does it have only three bearings too? It doesn't need a external coil cause those motors have the coil on the stator plate so they are extra cool for that alone even though the light isn't as bright. Does the cylinder head have the little compression release valve too?
i like the bombardier puch engines i always wanted to find one
i dont think it has a compression release. it did have a three shoe clutch!
mine did too with blue springs.. I was excited when I noticed that like a year later lol
It's because I'm magic.
