I want to put a great expansion pipe on my 40T, but Treats is out of the Doppler pipes.
This is basically the best I can find.
I was reading around and bit and most people were saying that they were shit....mainly because they're restricted. My buddy's Asil Quick pipe was really restricted too. What's the big deal?
We just tore the baffle out and had no issues!
Anyone get one of these and just think they totally suck? Let me know before I make a bad decision.

thats a different leovinci than the one that all the moby guys hate. leo puch pipes are pretty good. they make great scooter pipes. so i dont think all moby leos are shit.
that is also a shitty pipe.
the other shitty leo vince is a stock replacement. This is meant to be more than stock, but still ends up not being that great.
Ninja, Doppler, or Bidalot are your best bet. Order them from RCV team. or wait until quarterkick or treats gets some in.

also yeah its a fact of life. my doppler rusts on the header part, i dont think ive seen one that doesnt.
my Doppler rusted sitting brand new in my garage. Its no big deal.
doppler recommends wiping the pipe down with oil regularly to prevent rust. mine does that to itself, so it's still shiny and new looking. i'm with the other peeps, wait on a good pipe like a doppler, or ninja. you won't regret it.

the muffler on the leovinci is whats restrictive, in addition to whatever washers are welded to it internally. also ive read that the craftsmanship isnt that great (i guess compared to a doppler or ninja pipe). ive read that even the bidalot isnt really excellent and is pretty average all around. ninja G2 for higher revving motors, doppler works really well on 70cc kits, and high revving 50cc kits, and the ninja G3 is great all around.
bidalot racing is amazing, but they dont make that pipe anymore.

besides, you can go mad fast with just the stock, its not really restrictive.
I don't know about their moby pipes, but my Leo for my NOI is really poorly made. It also rips. You just have to weld it back together every now and again.
yo ben, if you got a 40t, why not get the ninja pipe from quarterkick, or from 1977mopeds? treats aint the only place to get stuff from
Been to both places.....they're all out. This is literally THE ONLY performance pipe upgrade available in the states right now.
There are a bunch of Bidalot pipes and Dopplers on Ebay.fr.....but then I get the joy of paying 75.00 for shipping!

I was talking to one of the owners of QK about the Leovince Cobra and some of the comments I've read - he said that those are typically from people that haven't tried it - he says it's a good pipe, especially for the money. One plus is you get to keep your stand. I'm leaning towards a Ninja, but I think any pipe will have to wait until I refresh the bank. I was just reviewing how much I've spent this fall at Treats, '77, QK for the Moby and Puch rebuilds and upgrades - yikes!
So I have a question are there no performance gains from the Cobra pipe? I have a Doppler pipe for my project moby but somebody pulled apart my stock exhaust before I got it and it just has a plate blocking the outlet so it is loud as hell not mention a bitch to start. I need to get a new pipe so I wont have to run my bike for 2-3 blocks before it starts and didn't want to shell out another $200 for a mostly stock bike. You guys think I should still go stock?
Also it is possible to mount a lopng expansion pipe(doppler ect.) and keep your center stand I have seen a few bikes like that and was planing on doing it that way myself.
the doppler does not interfere with a center stand. I actually dont know though because i took it off so long ago. It might actually interfere i dont remember.

the cobra pipe is just a replacement for the stock AV10 exhaust, and a pipe identical to it manufactured by mbk actually came stock on the MBK magnum and a few other mbk bikes overseas. I've used the mbk made one and it doesnt do a thing. its restricted, and is kind of difficult to derestrict. i posted a link to it a while ago.
Yeah - you're right, Mait. It doesn't interfere with the stand. Gabe's girlfriend, Risha has a 50V with a Doppler and the stand works fine.
I already ordered the Leo Vinci.....I'll open it up and see. Maybe I'll send it back.
Got the 40T kitted this evening....it was a BITCH to modify new cables for the choke and throttle. Well worth throwing out that Gurnter, however. Even if it was the 13mm 'fast' carb.

I'll bet it does fine. I'm going to look at it, find the baffles if there are any...tear that shit out, and I can pretty much guarantee that it'll be better than that TINY little muffler that comes stock.
I mean...let's be real here....that Leo Vinci is a full pipe with an expansion chamber. Yeah it's not a Doppler, but it's sure as shit better than the stock muffler!

yup, stock AV10 (which i've been running for almost a year) is no more powerful than an AV7 in good shape. your malossi kitted AV7 is actually more powerful. here's that link.

I was misinformed, then.
I read somewhere that the AV10 reed, case inducted engine put out around 2.7 hp stock....whereas the AV88 and AV7 were around 1.5.
I rode around tonight very carefully for the first ride and the Malossi is nice. I'm still trying to figure out what exactly is going on with the Dimoby clutch. It acts almost like a 2 speed. It very strange......unlike any moped I've ridden.
It has a nice little power band around 15 mph, though.....and I can tell with a nice pipe and a bit of an upjet, will be pulling around 40 pretty nicely.
For now it's going to be my cruiser bike, with the Magnum left for the high speeds.
When you put the pipe on, just make sure there are no washers welded at the ends. Leovinci may do this as ninja does to restrict their pipes in accordance with French laws, so you have to remove them.
I say try it, unless someone here has actually used it. The Sim Exhaust sucks. I bought one before I knew how pipes work and it was a mistake. The expansion chamber is just WAY to small.
I would recommend getting a performance variator. It makes SOOO much difference. Good luck.
av10 puts out 2.2 hp stock, and the av7 is 1.8 hp stock IIRC.
