apparently latebirds use exhausts and handlebars. Freebird shared his this evening on chat. Maybe he will post it here later.
i will post a pic in a bit.

Shaw made this one for me. I believe its from an old pair of BMX handlebars. Stock tomos exhausts work well too I hear.
i suppose thats the Inner Diameter i need, no?
Depends what size carb you are using. You should really try to get as close as possible to having your carb and intake match. I tried putting a 21 on with a 19 intake, and my bike ran horrible. Put the 19 back on and ran like a dream.
Not too cute but I really wanted to make something work instead of returning all the parts.
I took a vespa smallframe 19mm intake and cut it on one side and grided the other to accept a 20mm clamp dellorto. It meets the four pedal reed block by a vespa kickstart rubber and hose clamps. The air filter is a cut bing hi-flow.
hey david what are the nipples for those tubes comming off those carbs for i never figured it out
what's the deal with that fuel run off? my friend chris has this going on on his general, and it coat's your leg in gas after a good long ride
There should be no fuel coming out of those lines unless there is something wrong with your bike cory. They are breather holds to keep the preassure in the float area the same as the outside air. The hoses are there to route the fuel away from your motor just in the event fuel dose come out (due to going around a tight corner ect.).
Your float bowl is probally mis adjusted.
oh it's not my bike. it's chris's super fast general....i think it is from cornering, i don't have anything nearly that fast on the street yet
I see they are all made from steel... I've made them from steel too with out a problem I think, but get condensation on the outside and it turns ice cold because steel diffuses heat differently than aluminum. is this doing anything to the mixture inside the intake? if it is cooling the intake pulse than that's rad because cooler means better engine life and denser air molecules so I can stuff more in there. but if this seems like such an awesome upgrade (Steel intake rather than aluminum) than why don't we see it on all bikes?
eh?
most of the aluminum intakes are casted, i would assume that cast aluminum is much more profitable/easier/etc than welded steel - ? - but i could be wrong
my 17mm aluminum S intake, from the magnum x, would get frosted over during the winter, because of all the condensation built up, we rode up north one night last winter, we rode along the water for about 5-10 miles and it was so cold, and my intake was just white as snow with condensation
Not the most creative, but I made the spacer myself. It was necessary for fitting the mikuni by clearing the case.
