tomos reeds/reed cage

would the polini reed cages fit a tomos a35 even though there ment for puchs? if so what would be a better size for a balls out a35 70cc kit techno extroil upgraded ignition case match? there are 15 and 19mm intakes available but i heard a 16 or 17mm carb is ideal for the tomos. should i go big? ill doo any other upgrades necessary to run with a bigger carb. i want to run a phgb carb. if they don't fit what other options do i have to replace the tomos reeds?

Re: tomos reeds/reed cage

so noone has upgraded there reeds and reed cage on there tomos?

Re: tomos reeds/reed cage

itll fit

Re: tomos reeds/reed cage

what size should i get? the 15mm or the 19mm. i want this to be a beast. so im afraid the 15 isn't big enough but im also afraid the 19 might be a little to big. i guess is the 19 is to big ill just have to bore out the cylinder even more. what do u think?

Re: tomos reeds/reed cage

Hey scott run the 19mm. major difference on your performance/speed. dnt forget to jet

tomos reeds/reed cage

Woah. Do you mean the 4 petal reed? Won't that put the carb near upside down with the angle of the cylinder?

Re: tomos reeds/reed cage

not sure what your talking about turning the carb upside down. id have to make a custom manifold because the carb oud be to big to fit inbetween the cylinder and the frame. thanks for your help Jose

Re: tomos reeds/reed cage

i've used the malossi 4 reed cage on an a35 jug, works fine with a little fab

polini makes 2 sizes of 4 reed cages, one for the smaller sha carbs and one for the bigger phbg carbs

i dont see the purpose in using the stock reed intake that comes with the polini kit, as its no different than the one that comes on the a35 to begin with, you would have to get the 4 petal for any major difference

Re: tomos reeds/reed cage

what kind of performance gains did you get with the 4 pedal reed cage?
