Oh noo my airsal kit is going klankity klank

It was a beautiful day for a ride, so I hopped on my '94 ttlx with a 64cc airsal kit. About 20 minutes into the ride I came to an idle, and I hear a mild klankity sound. Upon giving it gas it went away. It gradually got louder and louder, and I started losing power. The break in was going great. I'm running extra rich, and I never went WOT or abused it. WTF???? Hope it's only a ring.

This bike was running excellent. I was all ready through one tank for the break in period.

sigh

Yeah I may have time this week. I'm just dreading what I might find.

Re: Oh noo my airsal kit is going klankity klank

How many miles on that engine? Maybe one of the rod or crank bearings could not handle the power..

Re: Oh noo my airsal kit is going klankity klank

Dunno. The odemeter shows 7999.9 and it's stuck there. I'm guessing it probably has over 10,000 miles. It wasn't knocking or anything until yesterday afternoon. I'm hoping it's only a ring since it was losing power as well. If this is the case I'll probably put the stock setup back on assuming I didn't damage anything.

Well the good news is the kits is ok. The bad news I found a couple of teeth chipped on the 1st & 2nd clutch drive, and my shoes are pretty much shot as well. But I don't think this is the cause of my klanking noise though.
