*yawn* another ciao

it sucks that when i FINALLY get around to doing my "fast" ciao, it's like the hip new thing. whatever dude, i think they are awesome, and it's about time everyone else did too.

anyway, i've started in on my second ciao (third vespa total) and this time around i'm documenting it as i go. i've always wanted to do this with ped, so i'm finally doing it. wish i had done it with magnomos.

http://ciaociaociao.wordpress.com is where you'll find it, if you care enough to care. i have some fancy stuff in store for ciao, so you might book mark it and check it every now and again.

Re: *yawn* another ciao

CIAI CIAO dammit! other people are still stuck on puch, ciao's aint that popular yet dean, we're still pioneers! i've been reading over everything, and i luv the documentation. keep up the good work! obscure models all the way for me man!

Re: *yawn* another ciao

ciaos are def the new magnum

Re: *yawn* another ciao

Look forward to reading your updates, but I agree, Ciao's are the new Magnum. Oh well, you can always say you liked them before they were cool.

Re: *yawn* another ciao

word! i started mine when everyone at warbux said they were ugly bitch bikes...then i rolled up and they were like DAMN nice ciao!

Re: *yawn* another ciao

they were never not cool! damn it!

Re: *yawn* another ciao

lol, thats what i said! isee a bikes potential. just wait til it shifts and everyone says tomos are cool...lol it WILL happen. each brand has it's own year

Re: *yawn* another ciao

year of the flyong dutchmen.

Re: *yawn* another ciao

I'm waiting for the year of the Chicken Power.

what happened to you all

ciaos suck

Re: *yawn* another ciao

damn and I'm still building a magnum. Always behind the curve.

Thanks for taking the time to document the build (this is what I am doing for the magnum). It's the best way for others to learn without asking a million questions.

ps: ciao's are ugly just fyi

Re: *yawn* another ciao

Looking forward to seeing the complete bike...

Keep us updated.

Re: *yawn* another ciao

paz, i am ugly, the only way i can not be ugly is to ride around on something uglier than i am, so the ciao is perfect for me! yay!

also, are you documenting your magnum online? where can we follow the progress?

Re: *yawn* another ciao

mkelly, same goes for what you said. i suck, a lot, so the only way i can seem to not be so damn sucky is to ride around on something suckier than i am.. the ciao is truly the perfect moped for me!

Don't you need a different rear wheel axle to use the variator? Is that included in the "racing gear" set?

Re: *yawn* another ciao

i have a bravo wheel already, but i believe the gear set might take care of that. i'm waiting for it to show up so that i can see what all is what. if possible, i'll rebuild a ciao transmission and save the bravo wheel for the other ciao.

Re: *yawn* another ciao

Indeed. I wonder if that same trick would work with a kinetic. I know you can replace the rear wheel with one from a bravo, but finding one is such a pain in the neck.

Re: *yawn* another ciao

Oh, and I think you need to replace the clutch with a bravo-like one, to keep the belt tension right as the variator opens and closes.

did someone say ciaos are ugly??

HA! look again my friend!

Re: *yawn* another ciao

you can variate a kinetic easily, just get all the vespa variated parts, and put it on the kinetic

Re: *yawn* another ciao

Yep. I'm just saying that buying a rear wheel gear set is almost certainly easier than finding a bravo rear wheel.

Re: *yawn* another ciao

yeah, that's probably true. when i bought my ciao, it was already variated. i waited until i found one...then i put a polini variator on that bitch, but i think i'm going to go with a malossi variator now....we'll see

haha oh terry dean.

i just cant physically ride on a ciao, therefore they suck to me.

your tahoe is sexxxxxxy though

Re: *yawn* another ciao

you def need the clutch from a variated vespa moped to make a variator work, even if you buy the racing gears. zippy might have them? i don't know. i've got a couple, so i'm kind of lucky.

Re: *yawn* another ciao

at least i feel lucky anyway

Re: *yawn* another ciao

Lucky in love? When you finish the Ciao, bring it to Reno! Just come to Reno anyway: you can ride my Yamahopper.

I love almost all mopeds aside from TTLXes -- too much plastic bullshit. I have confidence that your Ciao will dominate, and put the naysayers to such shame.

Re: *yawn* another ciao

i like nay sayers. i don't do the whole TOLD YOU SO thing, but on the inside i feel super fuzzy when i show someone a thing or two.

ttlx's are awesome. you just have to throw away all the plastic!

Re: *yawn* another ciao

🇮🇹💦 Of the Loin /

oddly enough i am interested in ciao performance

not because i want one, but im helping my buddy soup his up so he can ride with my shredped motobecane monster (its even faster than it was at T.I.T.S this summer)

Re: *yawn* another ciao

I think it's awesome that you are documenting this. I think it would be beneficial to the site if everyone documented their projects, and that is why I will be doing the same thing when I start my winter project. It won't be any where near as cool though, and I'm sure I'll fuck up a lot. I'm such a noob still. Any who, I learn alot when people post stuff like this. Keep going, and try not to spend all your money on moped parts so you can come home for x-mas.

Re: *yawn* another ciao

terry, did you get the pipe you bought from me?

I put some stickers in there too.
