i would try not to attach the springs to the head of the engine but rather the cylinder, i have seen setups with springs holding exhuasts on that went tot he head of the bike and it cuased enough pressure over a few weeks to warp the head so that there was always aleak between the head and the cylinder. I think it happens becuase the springs are pulling so hard on the head in a perpendicular direction to the dierction of the cylinder studs, and cuasing the 2 to be pulled asque.
