tomos head torque spec???

hey i have just installed a new airsal 67cc cylinder and an old a3 cylinder head on my a35 but i've had a hard time finding what the torque specs are for the cylinder/head nuts i did it by hand to where i think it should be then retorqued them two more times by hand after the first two maiden voyages and it runs great i still need to play with the jetting to find the perfect amount of fuel flow without running too hot and try cooler spark plugs then i'll feel comfortable bringing the bike on longer rides without worrying if my new cylinder will melt down like trenoble like my stock a35. any one with suggestions on what numbers to torque them to i would greatly appreciate it, thanx

Re: tomos head torque spec???

I've never used a torque wrench though I know I probably should. I usually just try not to crank down on the bolts, and try to use the same force on each one. So far I haven't had any problems.

I too am getting a kit for my Tomos. I guess I should invest in a torque wrench to be on the safe side.

torquing to the stock specs would probably be ok whatever they are.

Re: tomos head torque spec???

i'm so used to working on car engines being a mechanic that i hate just guesstimating on smaller engines my main concern is that i replace the garbage stock head nuts with locking nuts with a collar on them to distribute the force more evenly like a washer would on the head, i used a short 1/4" ratchet wrench so that i wouldn't over torque any nuts and checked and tightened them again after i rode it for about a half hour, so far the moped feels like a slow 2 stroke 80cc dirt bike with a less noticeable power band but it does pull harder up hills and the speed increase with stock gearing went from 38 mph to burying the needle into the unknown i need to drive past a police speed check sign or have my buddy drive along side me with his car. Long story short so far i'm extremely impressed with the airsal kit and my exhaust and intake mods how they compliment each other so well.

Re: tomos head torque spec???

the mopedriders2.org has the tomos service manual. I know I've seen the torque specs on there.

8-10 ft #s will work. Why not get an A35 head. More fin area for cooling.
