just ported 1 half of my case..i think

how do i know if i did enough work to feel the new found power, and also does the port work have to be exactly identical to the other side?

also, is there anyone who wants to finish porting/port my cylinder, i dont really have the tools to do a good job

its an m48 laura-anker motor

Pics? I want to see Laura guts.

Re: just ported 1 half of my case..i think

Read up on port matching in the tuning wiki, it should get you started. Make sure to examine the part closely so you know where everything is and what it does so you don't open up a hole where there should not be one. You can always remove more but if you remove too much you can't go back.

Yes you want them to match as close as you can get it, at least considerably better than stock, that is the point. also make sure you cut the gasket to match, unless you are using no gasket or gasket maker.

Re: just ported 1 half of my case..i think

laura guts are a misuse of two stroke technology.

Re: just ported 1 half of my case..i think

haha

its a laura-anchor motor you mean. you use it to keep your boat from floating around.

i'm doing some work with m-48's now that everybody in our fucking crew and their grandmother seems to have dragged a batavus out of some barn somewhere, expect to see some good shit posted.

Re: just ported 1 half of my case..i think

idk

But long lines of text with no space make

the post unpleasant to read.

Re: tiny reed

btw you dont bend reeds like that, your asking for trouble kids playing with there toys.

Re: tiny reed

is that a stock bat reed?

Re: tiny reed

Cleats Onionpockets /

Use the macro setting you dolt, everything comes out blurry otherwise. And also, you'll break or badly bend your reeds pulling on them like that.

Lastly, you might have incrased you intake size, that's fine. But what have you done about the exhaust port? The transfer ports? The transfer timing?

And didn't you crash that bike?

Re: tiny reed

i did use the macro setting u dolt its a crappy close up camera, dont worry thre reeds are fine they are really thick, the exhaust port has been opened up, the transfers are matched to the case, and has a little work done on them, the timing is the same as stock but im going to add 3 base gaskets to change that, yes i did, but i fixed it and its getting a complete overhaul

Re: tiny reed

haha...then buy a better camera you dolt! (I love that word...such a harmless insult lol)

They might be thick, but you still shouldn't weaken them by bending them that far, unless you plan to immediately replace them.

Re: tiny reed

i know lol and what is a dolt lmao and yes i am with carbon fiber
