I've heard rumors that some form of soy bean oil can be used to replace the 2 stroke oil. Smells like french fries :) Anyone able to substantiate (or disprove) this rumor?

Castrol H is made from castor beans so i guess it is possible that that would be a source for ester 2 stroke oil.
Yes if the glycerin has been removed. Don't know about the film strength and other lubricity values. The print ink on newapapers is made from carbonizing soy oil
klotz makes a product called benol. check it out!
veggie oils are 11% O2 by weight. or something like that
I ran some castor bean oil last summer and my plugs would short out even though clean looking everytime I let the engine cool. If it was still hot they wouldn't short out. A real pain. The curios thing was that they looked light brown not black and still fouled even after 2 miles.
again try klotz benol.
I was using Maxima bean oil. Is the Klotz better. What was your experience?
Ester 2 stroke oil works with straight ethanol!
All of the public busses in St. Louis run on soy oil...but I don't know anything about it other than that. Maybe you should look into how they do it.
Completely different technology...
ill just put a bus engine on the maxi so i can run the oil
