i am trying to switch my airbox for the uni air filter on my 08 lx. im not exactly sure how big the opening should be. on the package it says 1.5x4 inches. when i put it on it just gets real loud whenever i touch the throttle. but i can move in first gear pretty good, but when its just about to shift into 2nd it dies. its a phva carb by the way.
ps. should i upjet?

sounds like you need to upjet to me. It sounds like it's getting alot of air and not enough fuel. Those filters seem to allow alot more air than a factory air box.
